YouTube Researcher + Scriptwriter – Real-Life Disturbing Encounters Caught on Camera (Long-Form)

We're looking for someone who can handle the full pre-production pipeline: researching cases, sourcing footage, and writing the final script. This is a combined research + writing role. You'll find the cases, verify the sources, locate the footage, and then write the narration around them. Because the research and writing are so closely connected in this format, we've combined them into a single role rather than splitting them across two people. What the work involves: • Researching and sourcing 6–10 real-life encounters per video from YouTube, Reddit, news articles, and other public sources • Verifying that each case has usable footage with clear timestamps • Confirming source depth — enough detail to build a compelling narrative around each case • Writing long-form YouTube scripts (approx. 25–40 minutes per video) • Maintaining a calm, investigative, suspense-driven narration tone • Structuring scripts with strong pacing, smooth transitions between cases, and viewer retention in mind • Using advertiser-friendly language (no graphic or excessive violence) Please note: This is not fiction, creepypasta, or short-form horror. We need someone who understands real-life encounter storytelling and how to maintain viewer engagement over long runtimes. What we're looking for: • Previous experience writing and/or researching for real-life horror, disturbing encounter, or true crime YouTube channels • Strong research skills — ability to find obscure cases, verify facts, and assess footage quality • Understanding of YouTube pacing, retention, and suspense building • Comfortable writing 25–40 minute scripts consistently • Able to follow style guidelines, accept feedback, and adapt to our established format • Reliable, consistent, and deadline-oriented Applications without relevant niche experience will not be considered.
