YouTube Video Editor (Story-Driven, Motion Graphics) – Weekly Long-Form Content

We are building a high-quality faceless YouTube channel in the documentary / educational storytelling niche. Topics focus on animals, nature, biology and evolution. This is a long-term opportunity for an editor who understands how to turn a script and voice-over into an engaging visual story. Reference channels: Beyond the Blue Beyond the Green What You'll Be Editing * 10-minute YouTube videos (±1 minute) * Faceless documentary format * Voice-over and script provided * 1 video per week to start The editing style should feel cinematic, engaging, and easy to follow. The goal is not flashy editing. The goal is helping the viewer understand the story. Your Responsibilities * Visual Storytelling (Most Important) * You will source and edit footage that matches the narration. * When the script talks about something, the viewer should see it. This includes: * Wildlife footage * Documentary footage * Archive footage * Relevant stock footage * Images when needed We are looking for thoughtful visual choices, not random B-roll. * Pacing & Retention * Videos should maintain viewer interest throughout. This includes: * Regular scene changes * Strong visual variety * Clear progression from one idea to the next * No long periods of static footage * Simple Explanatory Visuals Some concepts are difficult to show with footage alone. In these moments, basic motion graphics, diagrams, labels, callouts, or comparisons may be used. The channel is primarily footage-based. Motion graphics should only be used when they genuinely improve understanding. Music & Sound Design * Appropriate copyright free background music where it matters and brings value * Sound effects where useful * Clean audio balance * Voice-over always remains clear and dominant What We're Looking For * Experience editing YouTube documentaries * Strong footage research skills * Good visual storytelling instincts * Understanding of YouTube retention * Ability to work independently * Fluent English Experience with wildlife, science, educational, or documentary content is a strong advantage. We are open to providing access to commercial libraries when appropriate. * Use copyright-safe video, images, music, and sound effects. * Prefer licensed footage and assets whenever possible. * Footage should be edited and integrated into the story, not used as long unedited clips. * The editor should understand YouTube copyright and documentary-style content. * Avoid anything that creates unnecessary copyright or monetization risks. We will start by working with a small number of editors. After the initial videos, we plan to continue with the editor who is the best fit for a long-term partnership. All work will be paid.
