YouTube Video Editor (Tesla/EV Niche) — $75–$100/Video, Fully Remote, Async
Worldwide
Summary: I run a YouTube channel focused on Tesla Model 3 and Model Y tips, guides, and news — growing steadily with 1 to 2 uploads per week between long-form videos (13–20 minutes) and YouTube Shorts (45–60 seconds). I need a reliable video editor who can take my raw talking-head footage, pair it with b-roll (provided by me), and deliver a polished final product that feels clean, conversational, and professional — not overproduced. I will require that you look over my current YouTube video library and replicate the style and tone of the edits (and improve on them if possible) This is a solo creator channel, not a media company. You'll be working directly with me. The vibe is relaxed and the communication is straightforward — but the output needs to be consistently high quality and delivered on time. I'm looking for someone based in Indonesia or Southeast Asia who wants a long-term editing partnership, not a one-off gig. What You'll Be Editing: - Long-form talking-head videos (13–20 min) filmed in my office, with b-roll overlays, text on screen, light motion graphics, and background music. - YouTube Shorts (45–60 sec) — quick cuts, text overlays, punchy pacing. - Occasional product feature segments woven into longer videos (these need to feel natural, not like ads) What I Provide You: - Raw talking-head footage (4K) - A written script with b-roll suggestions clearly marked - Stock footage / b-roll clips or direction on what to source - Brand assets (logos, product images, intro/outro templates) - Reference videos so you know exactly what I'm going for What I Expect From You: - A clean first draft delivered within 3–4 days of receiving raw footage - Revisions turned around within 24 hours - Consistent pacing that matches a conversational, informational tone — not fast-cut gaming energy - Clean audio (levels balanced, background noise handled if any) - Text overlays and callouts that are readable and well-timed - Properly synced b-roll that matches what's being talked about - Proactive communication — if something is unclear or you're going to miss a deadline, tell me before it's a problem Tools: - Editing software: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut (your preference — I care about the output, not the tool) - File delivery: Google Drive (we'll set up a shared workflow) - Communication: Slack or other platform for easy async check-ins - Stock footage: I'll provide my own b-roll footage, but bonus points if you can source complimentary footage from Pexels, Pixabay, or similar Requirements (Non-Negotiable): - You can edit a clean, professional YouTube video end to end — not just cuts, but pacing, music, text, and b-roll - Strong enough English to understand scripts and communicate clearly in writing - You hit deadlines. If you say Thursday, it's Thursday. - You're comfortable working async with someone in Eastern Time (North America) - You can take feedback without taking it personally — early videos will need back-and-forth as you learn my style - You have a portfolio or samples I can review before hiring Nice to Haves: - Experience editing in the tech, automotive, or EV space - Familiarity with YouTube best practices (retention pacing, hook editing, end screens) - Ability to source or create simple motion graphics (lower thirds, animated text, icons) - You've worked with a solo creator before and understand the dynamic Hours and Schedule: - Fully remote, fully async - Expect 1 video per week to start, possibility of 2 videos per week over time - Some weeks may be lighter, some heavier — I'll always give you as much lead time as possible - Overlap availability for quick messages during your morning / my evening is helpful but not required daily Compensation Per-video pricing: - Long-form (13–20 min): $75–$150 USD per video depending on complexity and your experience - YouTube Shorts (45–60 sec): To be negociated Payment through Upwork I'm looking for a long-term editor, not a freelancer who disappears after 3 videos. If we click, there's consistent weekly work here and room to grow the rate as the channel grows. We'll start with a paid test edit (one long-form video at $50) so we can both see if it's a fit before committing. How to Apply (Read This or You Will Be Ignored) Please include: - A link to your portfolio or 2–3 YouTube videos you've edited (not a highlight reel — I want to see full videos) - A short note (3–5 sentences) on your editing style and what kind of content you enjoy editing most - Your per-video rate for both long-form and Shorts - Your typical turnaround time for a ~15-minute talking-head video - Put the word "Optimus" at the top of your application so I know you read the full listing Looking forward to your application :) -Griffin
