YouTube Video Editor (Trading & Finance) – Long-Form to Viral Shorts

We are looking for a skilled video editor who specializes in identifying and clipping high-performing moments from long-form YouTube videos into engaging short-form content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and X. This is not a basic editing position. We are looking for someone who understands audience retention, storytelling, pacing, and what makes educational content go viral. Our content focuses on: -Stock market education -Options trading -Trading psychology -Market analysis -Entrepreneurship and financial education A background or strong understanding of the stock market and options trading is highly preferred. We want someone who can recognize valuable educational moments without needing detailed instructions for every clip. Responsibilities -Watch long-form videos (30-90+ minutes) -Identify the highest-value and most engaging moments -Create multiple vertical clips optimized for Shorts, Reels, TikTok, and X -Write compelling hooks using captions and visual pacing -Add dynamic captions, zooms, transitions, graphics, B-roll, and sound effects where appropriate -Maintain a fast-paced editing style that maximizes retention -Deliver multiple clips from each long-form video -Organize project files and revisions professionally Ideal Candidate You are someone who: -Has experience creating viral short-form content -Understands audience retention and watch-time optimization -Knows how to create a strong hook within the first 1-3 seconds -Can independently identify the moments most likely to perform well -Has experience editing educational or finance-related content -Understands stock market terminology and options trading concepts (preferred) -Communicates clearly and meets deadlines consistently Bonus Qualifications -Active trader or investor -Experience editing finance, investing, or business creators -Familiar with YouTube analytics and retention metrics -Able to recommend content ideas based on trends and performance To Apply Please include the following: 1) A brief introduction about yourself. 2) Links to 3-5 examples of short-form videos you've edited. 3) If possible, include videos that generated high views or engagement. 4) Tell us whether you have experience with stock market or options trading content. 5) What editing software do you primarily use? 6) Describe your process for finding viral moments from a 30-60 minute video. 7) Approximately how many high-quality Shorts/Reels could you produce from a one-hour recording?
