YouTube Video Editor for Adventure Videos

We’re looking for a talented YouTube editor to join our growing adventure channel. Our content follows us on real ocean missions — fishing, diving, camping, exploring remote locations and living off what we catch. The videos are not just about the catch; they’re about the challenge, the failures, the tension, the humour between us as a couple, and making viewers feel like they’re part of the adventure. What we need: * Editing 20-35 minute YouTube videos * Creating strong hooks in the first 30 seconds * Building tension and storytelling throughout the video * Knowing when to speed things up and when to let moments breathe * Using music and sound effects to enhance emotion and excitement * Smooth transitions and cinematic B-roll sequences * Basic colour correction and audio balancing * Adding simple text, maps, graphics, or effects where they improve the story The style we are aiming for: Think cinematic outdoor adventure documentaries mixed with entertaining YouTube storytelling. We love edits that make viewers ask: “Do they actually pull this off?” Examples of moments that should be elevated: * The pressure of catching dinner before the day ends * Big fish strikes and intense fights * Funny moments and conversations between us * Setbacks, bad weather, missed opportunities and failures * Beautiful scenery and travel moments Who we are looking for: * Someone who understands YouTube retention and storytelling * Someone who can make an average day feel like an adventure * Someone who takes creative initiative and doesn’t just follow instructions * Someone with experience editing outdoor, fishing, travel or adventure content (preferred) Work & Budget: * 1–4 videos per month initially, with potential for more * Long-term relationship preferred * Budget: approximately $200-300nzd per video depending on experience and quality To apply: Please send: 1.
