Please read this entire posting before applying. We are not looking for a traditional SEO agency, link builder, content writer, VA, or someone who simply runs audits and submits reports. We are looking for a senior-level SEO operator who can take ownership of organic growth for a well-established guitar company and help us build a long-term traffic and revenue engine. About Us Zager Guitars has been building guitars for over 50 years and has sold to customers worldwide. We have millions of players and artists who have used our instruments over the decades and we are currently investing heavily into rebuilding and scaling our online marketing infrastructure. We already have: • Existing traffic  • Existing authority  • Existing content  • Existing rankings  • Developers available  • Writers available  • PPC running  • Analytics and tracking systems What we do NOT have is someone who can confidently tell us: “What should we do next?” The Person We Are Looking For You should have personally grown websites that generate meaningful revenue. We are not interested in theory. We are interested in execution. You should be able to: • Perform advanced technical SEO audits  • Identify crawl, indexing, schema, canonical, and internal linking issues  • Build revenue-focused SEO strategies  • Understand GA4, GTM, Search Console, and conversion tracking  • Prioritize actions based on expected revenue impact  • Work directly with developers  • Explain complex SEO concepts in plain English Most importantly: You must be able to separate activities from results. We are not interested in: • “We published 20 blogs.”  • “We built 50 backlinks.”  • “We updated 100 meta descriptions.” We care about: • Organic traffic growth  • Revenue growth  • Lead growth  • Rankings for commercial keywords  • Conversion improvements Current Situation We operate a large WordPress site and are evaluating Shopify as part of our long-term strategy. We have multiple developers, marketers, PPC managers, and content writers involved. Your job is not to do everything yourself. Your job is to determine: • What matters  • What doesn’t  • What should be done first  • What should be ignored You will be expected to challenge assumptions when necessary. Application Requirements To be considered, please answer ALL of the following: 1. What is the largest website you have personally grown through SEO? 2. How much organic traffic did it have when you started and when you left? 3. What was the approximate annual revenue of that business? 4. What specific actions created the biggest SEO gains? 5. What SEO advice do you commonly see that you believe is a waste of time? 6. If you were hired tomorrow, what would be the first five things you would investigate on our website? 7. Provide at least three examples of websites where you personally led SEO strategy. 8. What AI and LLM optimization strategies are you currently using? 9. Have you ever managed a migration between WordPress and Shopify? 10. What would your first 30 days look like if hired? Important If your proposal talks mostly about backlinks, meta descriptions, blog posting schedules, or generic SEO packages, you will not be considered. We are looking for someone who thinks like an owner, not someone who follows a checklist. Budget is flexible for the right person. If you are exceptional, we are prepared to pay accordingly.
