U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charitable Christian nonprofit Grant Review
Worldwide
Victoria's Children is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charitable Christian nonprofit founded in 2014. We operate a residential care program in Kenya serving 52 orphaned and vulnerable children, providing shelter, food, clothing, education, medical care, and spiritual and emotional support. We are seeking an experienced grant writer/researcher to help us assess our current grant readiness and identify realistic funding opportunities aligned with our mission and programs. The initial project will focus on: Reviewing our nonprofit's mission, programs, and organizational information Assessing our current grant readiness Identifying potential foundation, corporate, faith-based, humanitarian, and international-development funders Researching grant opportunities that support children, education, healthcare, basic needs, child welfare, Kenya, Africa, and international development Creating a concise grant prospect list with funder names, eligibility, funding focus, deadlines, and application information Reviewing our existing grant materials, if applicable Providing practical recommendations for strengthening our grant applications and funding strategy We are especially interested in someone who understands that not every grant is suitable for an organization operating internationally. We need targeted research and genuine funder alignment, rather than a generic list of grants. The successful freelancer may have opportunities for additional work involving grant proposal development and application support based on the results of the initial assessment. Ideal candidate has: Demonstrated experience in grant writing and grant research Experience researching nonprofit foundations and funding opportunities Understanding of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations Experience with international nonprofits or organizations serving vulnerable populations Familiarity with child welfare, education, healthcare, humanitarian, or international development funding Strong research and analytical skills Ability to evaluate funder eligibility and program alignment Experience developing grant prospect lists Strong written communication and attention to detail Christian/faith-based nonprofit experience is a plus Experience with Kenya or Africa-focused funding opportunities is highly desirable Please include examples of similar grant research or nonprofit grant-writing projects you have completed when applying.
