Some time ago, a client of mine started two shows at roughly the same time. One was simply repurposed recordings from a different platform (kept raw). The other had interviews that I edited. The results were night and day. The edited version had consistently 3x downloads. But what's more important: over 80% of people were going back and listening to every single older episode. That means an ENGAGED audience. They saw the host as an expert who was giving them value, and they wanted MORE. The second show not only didn't grow... it shrank. Only a handful of first-time listeners checked out other episodes, and even then... they left soon after. The difference was in the VALUE they felt they were getting.     I LOVE EDITING AUDIO! Seriously. I could do it all day and all night. I find it relaxing and satisfying. I especially love going through a track word by word, listening for any excessive breath noises and/or plosives that need to be mitigated or eliminated. I also specialize in going through multiple takes, line by line, and stitching together a dynamite composite master track. One of my other strengths is identifying problem frequencies, such as room modes and standing waves, and eliminating them with surgical subtractive equalization. It astounds me to hear these type of problems in professional broadcasts, and to my dismay it happens all the time. I am equipped with Pro Tools, and have tonnes of experience recording, editing and mixing in that format. I have high end microphones (Neumann, AKG, etc.), as well as top-notch preamps (Daking, Vintech) and apogee AD/DA convertors. I also have a full array of plug-ins from companies like Izotope, Sonnox, and Massey. Most of my experience has been with music, but I am a big fan of podcasts, and have been for many years.
