EXPERIENCE Color grading: I have experience in directing of photography, so I have a great eye for the color of movies, commercials, and music videos. So with me you always get a truly cinematic image, not overexposed, not over-saturated, and not overdone contrast like you can get with most beginner colorists. I use RCM-DWG pipeline (like ACES) and ACES in Davinci Resolve, so it's easy for me to work with different cameras, CGI footage and even stock rec709 footage in the same project, and after work we can simply convert it to another color space. I often use dctl tools rather than ready LUTs to create looks, so that 8-10-bit rec709 or 10-bit SLOG footage don't start degrading in the neutrals - the gray parts of the image. In color grading I prefer to make general look together with director or dp in Discord call (like zoom-call with screen sharing, but with right colors): we’ll create a general look on a few of the best shots for every scene of the film, we discuss and correct them, i’ll render it in few files in prores 422 hq, and send you, and when the general look will be approved - I’ll do the matching of shots myself - and you’ll get a grade 1 - draft 1 of color.
