My name is Stepan Grusha, I have 2 decades of experience in video editing (Adobe Premiere) and color grading (last 10 years - Davinci Resolve), my clients: Louis Vuitton, Heineken, AMD and a lot of big local companies. EXPERIENCE Color grading: I have experience in directing of photography, so I have a great eye for the color of movies, commercials, and music videos. So with me you always get a truly cinematic image, not overexposed, not over-saturated, and not overdone contrast like you can get with most beginner colorists. No CRINGE. Only BASED color. Video editing: I shot a lot of short films as director, so I easily find best takes considering the plot and the acting using one-action-one-shot rule, so I know how to improve the acting in the editing even if it’s long shots like in «Elephant» by Gus Van Sant. If you have tons of takes or long footages, and you don't know, how to select best moments, I will help you very quickly with my own technique "stair edit" in Adobe Premiere. I can draw, shoot and edit preshoot or animatic for your future work. If your deadline soon, I'm your best choice: fast work and no waste of time for connection between separate video editor and colorist. WORKFLOW My apps: 1. video editing - Adobe Premiere, 2. color grading - Davinci Resolve, Look Designer, 3dlut creator, few dctls, 3. simple sound editing - Izotope, Audition, 4. simple vfx and motion design - After Effect, Fusion, 5. simple clean up and skin retouching - Silhouette. I use RCM-DWG pipeline (like ACES) and ACES in Davinci Resolve, so it's easy for me to work with different cameras, CGI footage and even stock rec709 footage in the same project, and after work we can simply convert it to another color space. I often use dctl tools rather than ready LUTs to create looks, so that 8-10-bit rec709 or 10-bit SLOG footage don't start degrading in the neutrals - the gray parts of the image. In color grading I prefer to make general look together with director or dp in zoom-call with screen sharing: we’ll create a general look on a few of the best shots for every scene of the film, we discuss and correct them, i’ll render it in few files in prores 422 hq, and send you, and when the general look will be approved - I’ll do the matching of shots myself - and you’ll get a grade 1 - draft 1 of color. I have two internet providers (optical 500/250mbps + regular 150/5mbps) for faster downloading and uploading of footage. Open to working on highly artistic projects at a lower price point.
