We are looking for a Japan-based creative Project Management Lead to serve as the primary interface between the Japan Market and regional/global creative teams. This is a part-time (22 hours per week), fixed-term engagement (12 months) dedicated exclusively to one of our key clients. The role sits at the intersection of creative production and market liaison - requiring someone who can move fluidly between Tokyo stakeholders and an offshore studio environment, bringing both rigorous project management discipline and a genuine understanding of Japanese consumer culture. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has grown up in Japanese agency culture and understands what it takes to manage demanding brand clients within a structured, deadline-driven environment. They are equally comfortable writing a brief in English and presenting creative feedback in Japanese. They don't wait to be told there's a problem - they see it coming and fix it before it lands. Experience in the alcohol, FMCG or luxury category is a genuine differentiator for this role. Our client's Japan portfolio demands sensitivity to regulatory requirements, brand tone, and cultural nuance that goes beyond general marketing experience. Key Responsibilities – Act as the primary liaison between the Japan Market team and our offshore creative teams (based in Philippines) – Translate, interpret and localise briefs and creative feedback between Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders – Provide cultural context and local market insight to ensure creative outputs are locally relevant and brand-appropriate – Conduct first-level quality control (QC) on all deliverables before they are shared back with the Japan Market – Manage project timelines, track dependencies, and keep all stakeholders aligned across workflow stages – Anticipate and resolve blockers, escalating where necessary to keep delivery on track – Offer constructive creative input from a Japan market perspective throughout the production process Requirements Must Have – Strong background in a creative agency environment – Proven project management experience across multi-stakeholder workflows – Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) – Ability to articulate cultural nuances and local market context – Location: Japan (requirement to be in Tokyo office at least once a week) Nice To Have – Experience in alcohol, FMCG, or luxury categories – Experience within regional or global matrix organisations – Familiarity with content production processes and asset adaptation Engagement Details – 12 months – 22 hours per week (0.5 FTE) – Start Date: ASAP
