Build a Digital Trading Card Platform: PWA, Pack-Rip Engine, Marketplace, Payments
Worldwide
We’re building a digital trading card platform for sports — fans buy and “rip” digital packs on their phone, collect and trade cards, and redeem special cards for real prizes. Think a modern, mobile-first collectibles experience. We need an experienced team or senior full-stack developer to build it. This is a real, funded-path project with long-term potential (multiple phases), not a quick one-off. Core build (Phase 1): - Mobile web app / PWA — opens straight to a buy button from any link or QR code (must work embedded in web pages, broadcasts, and social; no app-store needed) - Pack-purchase + provably-fair “rip”/reveal engine with configurable odds and finite print runs - User accounts + a digital card collection/showroom with set-completion tracking - A free peer-to-peer marketplace for users to trade cards - A redemption system (digital cards redeem for prizes, including physical items with shipping fulfillment) - An admin backend to create and publish card series at scale (bulk photo intake, templated/automated card + parallel generation, odds/print-run config, per-team sales reporting) — automation is a priority so a small team can run it - Payments integration (Stripe or similar) with basic fraud/KYC Phase 2 (later): a premium “repack” module on the same infrastructure — pack pools with displayed odds, tiered pricing, a buyback/recycling engine, user vault, and ship-to-user. (We’ll scope this separately; mention relevant experience if you have it.) Ideal experience: - Marketplaces, fintech/payments, or gaming/collectibles platforms - PWA / mobile-first web, real-money transactions, scalable architecture that handles spiky traffic (live drops) - Bonus: AI-assisted image/asset generation pipelines What to include in your proposal: - Relevant projects you’ve built (links/case studies) - How you’d approach the Phase 1 architecture - A rough itemized estimate by component (we’ll share a detailed scope doc with shortlisted bidders) and a timeline to a working Phase 1 pilot - Your team composition and rate basis - Ongoing maintenance/hosting estimate We have a detailed scope document we’ll share with serious candidates. Tell us a bit about comparable work you’ve done and we’ll send it over.
