Data Governance Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to help us evaluate, select, and implement the right metadata management tools to drive our business forward. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in understanding current data landscape, defining the core business needs, and conducting a comprehensive market evaluation of data governance tools like Atlan, Alation, Collibera, Fabric etc. This candidate will work with the Architect to assist in the evaluation of the platforms. Key Responsibilities: Current State Assessment: Assist in stakeholder interviews to assess and document current data sources and define business needs. Requirements Gathering: Draft comprehensive business and technical requirements, prioritize operational use cases, and define clear success criteria for new data tools. Tool Selection & Vendor Management: Drive the market evaluation of metadata tools by sharing requirements with vendors, participating in vendor evaluations, and providing weighted scores based on objective criteria. Deliverables: Business and technical requirements document. Metadata tool market assessment (creating a shortlist of 3-5 top vendors). Evaluation scorecard and selection criteria. What We’re Looking For: 5 years in Data Governance, Business Analysis, or Data Management. Proven experience in vendor evaluation, RFP processes, or tool selection (specifically metadata, data catalog, or governance tools). Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. Highly organized with a track record of delivering detailed assessment reports.
