Discord Community Manager: Set Up and Run Our Server (Sports & Entertainment App)

About Stanza Stanza is a calendar app for sports, TV, and entertainment fans. Millions of people use us to drop their teams' and shows' schedules straight onto their phone calendar. We're launching a Discord community as the home for our most engaged fans and the creators who build calendars on Stanza, and we need someone to own it end to end. The Role We're hiring a Discord Community Manager to build our server from scratch and run it day to day. You'll own the structure, the moderation, the vibe, and the growth. Phase 1: Set up (first 1 to 2 weeks) - Design the server structure: channels, categories, and roles - Configure verification, moderation, and anti-spam - Set up bots (onboarding, roles, moderation, polls, reminders) - Write community guidelines and an onboarding flow - Brand the server to match Stanza: icon, banners, channel descriptions, emojis Phase 2: Run it (ongoing) - Moderate and keep the community healthy, safe, and welcoming - Spark daily conversation: game-day threads, show discussions, calendar requests - Onboard and support both fans and creators - Run light events: game threads, AMAs, feedback sessions - Collect product feedback and feature requests and pass them to our team - Send a short weekly report on growth and engagement You're a great fit if you - Have set up and grown Discord communities before (please share examples) - Know Discord admin tools and popular bots well (Carl-bot, MEE6, Dyno, etc.) - Are a sports or entertainment fan, or genuinely understand fan communities - Are reliable, self-directed, and a strong communicator - Can be active during US hours and around game times (flexible) Nice to have - Experience moderating fan or creator communities at scale
