Summary

We’re looking for a high-level Email & SMS Marketing Expert to overhaul and manage our entire lifecycle marketing system across multiple event brands and Shopify e-commerce stores. This is not a basic newsletter role. We need someone who understands ticket-driven urgency, segmentation at scale, deliverability best practices, and conversion-focused automations. About Us: We operate multiple B2C large-scale live events and festivals and sell event tickets through ticket platforms + branded merchandise on Shopify. Our brands span seasonal attractions, festivals, and touring experiences. We currently have: - Multiple event-specific email & SMS lists - Legacy audiences that need cleanup and re-organization - Shopify stores selling event merchandise - Mailchimp + SMS integrations that need a full professional rebuild What You’ll Own: - Email & SMS Strategy (Core Focus) - Deliverability optimization (IP/domain reputation, warming, inbox placement) - List cleanup, suppression, segmentation, and hygiene - Full audit and rebuild of Mailchimp account - Organize and restructure multiple event-specific audiences Build ticket-sales focused campaign frameworks - Set up Mailchimp SMS campaigns and flows - Create clear signup form strategy by event, brand, and intent Automations & Lifecycle: - Event ticket sales automations (Signup → pre-sale → on-sale → last-chance → post-event) - Abandoned browse & abandoned cart flows (Shopify) - Post-purchase upsells and cross-promotion between events - Re-engagement and sunset flows - Ongoing lifecycle optimization across multiple brands Shopify E-commerce (Merch Focus): - Abandoned cart + checkout recovery emails - Merch launch campaigns tied to events - Ongoing merch sales strategy (not just one-offs) - Cross-promote upcoming events through merch buyers - Shopify + Mailchimp integration optimization What We’re Looking For - You are a strong fit if you: - Have proven experience with Mailchimp + Shopify - Have built event-driven email campaigns (ticket sales, festivals, live events) - Understand SMS compliance, segmentation, and conversion - Know deliverability inside and out (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, warming, spam avoidance) - Think in funnels, urgency windows, and conversion optimization - Can manage complexity across multiple brands and audiences - Are strategic first, execution-strong second Not a Fit If: - You only write newsletters - You rely on generic templates - You don’t understand ticketing urgency or event timelines - You’ve never handled list cleanup or deliverability issues - You’re not comfortable owning a full system rebuild Success Looks Like: - Clean, organized audiences by brand and event - Higher open rates, CTRs, and ticket conversions - Reliable deliverability across email & SMS - Automated systems that scale across multiple events - A clear merch + event cross-sell engine Engagement: - Initial overhaul project - Ongoing monthly campaign & optimization work
