We are a volunteer-led climate nonprofit seeking an experienced GIS Architect or Senior Geospatial Developer to review an existing climate data project and recommend the best technical path forward and estimate the cost and resources needed for a scalable demonstration prototype. We currently have temperature datasets for the Northern hemisphere and the associated plots over time and organized within a custom geographic grid system. We seek expert recommendations on how best to structure, visualize, store, and scale this data for public-facing use on a website and to estimate the resources and costs of implementing a prototype using this data. Our ultimate goal for this temperature project is a webpage with a spherical graphic of the Earth which can be moved by finger or cursor to allow the visitor to touch any grid cell on the planet, to access temperature data for that grid cell.
