Summary

Southern California company hiring a grant writer for environmental and stormwater-related funding. We operate a nonprofit community program (dumpster enclosure retrofits that prevent stormwater pollution) alongside a compliance-inspection technology platform serving municipal stormwater programs. Real projects, active municipal pilots, strong story — we need someone who knows the funding landscape and can write winning applications. Deliverable 1 — Funding landscape memo (fixed scope, paid, the tryout) Research and deliver a memo of 10–15 current and upcoming funding opportunities fitting our work: EPA water quality programs, Clean Water Act Section 319(h), CalRecycle, California stormwater and waste-reduction programs, regional/county programs, and corporate ESG or foundation grants for community environmental infrastructure. For each: funder, program, typical award range, deadline or cycle, eligibility requirements, and a fit score with one sentence of reasoning. Flag which require nonprofit status vs. open to small business. Deliverable 2+ — Applications (authorized after the memo) We select 1–2 opportunities from your memo; you write the applications — narrative, budget justification support, attachments coordination. Ongoing relationship across future cycles preferred. Requirements: Demonstrated wins in environmental, water, infrastructure, or community-program grants — tell me what you've won and for whom (redacted is fine) Fluency in both government grants (federal/state/regional) and private/corporate giving California program familiarity a strong plus Clear writer, deadline-driven, comfortable working from source documents we provide Confidentiality agreement before receiving internal materials How we work: you'll get organized source material (program descriptions, regulatory context, project data) — we're documentation-heavy and responsive. You write; final claims and submissions are approved by us. All applications are submitted under the correct legal entity, which we designate per opportunity. To apply, answer in your proposal: Name two currently-open or recurring funding programs a California stormwater-pollution-prevention program should target, and in 2–3 sentences each, why those two.
