Laravel Developers (Backend/Security & UI/UX-Conversion) for an existing Greek social platform

Important: GoMate is NOT a dating app. It is a social club platform for new connections and activities — it brings people together in small groups (squads) for real-life events in the city, based on compatibility. No romantic matching, no swiping, no "hearts". The UI/UX and the wording must reflect this. GoMate is an existing platform for the Greek / EU market, already built and modular, currently in a pre-launch phase. We are adding one or two developers who will work on a fixed-price-per-task basis, alongside the existing developer. Tech stack: Laravel 12, PHP 8.4, Octane/FrankenPHP, Livewire, Filament, PostgreSQL, Redis queues, Reverb, Docker Compose, Stripe, Twilio, SendGrid, Firebase. Modular codebase under app/Modules with contracts between modules. We are looking for two profiles — tell us explicitly WHICH one you fit: 🔧 Role A — Backend / Security / Architecture Backend fixes & features (payments, subscriptions, events, referrals, chat) Security review & hardening GDPR / EU compliance: full-data-cleanup account deletion, consent logging, data export, cookie/analytics consent App Store / Google Play submission readiness (Capacitor) Code review & technical audit of existing code Tests (Pest) without breaking existing verified flows 🎨 Role B — UI/UX / Conversion UI/UX improvements aimed at conversion, not just "looking nice" Mobile-first responsive (mobile is the priority) Improving: signup, questionnaire completion, event applications, free/trial → paid conversion, lower drop-off Accessibility (ARIA, focus states, contrast) Greek content / i18n — the audience is Greek If you genuinely cover both roles at a senior level, tell us which projects prove it — not just "I do everything". 📁 How we work with documentation (.md): We work with living documentation files in .md format that describe the entire system. We treat it as a quality standard that a new developer must be able, within 1 hour, to understand how we work and how the project is structured — by reading only those files, with no verbal explanations. Every delivery keeps this documentation up to date. How we work: Fixed price per clearly defined task. We provide: what we want, the expected result, the deadline, the acceptance criteria. You tell us if you take it, at what price and in what time. Every task goes through independent review before payment. Terms are agreed in writing before each task starts. Terms (summary — full version in the contract): Clear acceptance criteria, a warranty for bugs, the developer's responsibility for correct estimation, and fair written terms per task. First paid trial: A small fixed-price task — audit/review of a flow or module with a written report + a small implementation. If it goes well, we continue with more. Availability + when you can start WORKING TERMS 1. Estimation responsibility Because we work fixed-price, the developer is responsible for asking all the questions they need before giving a price and a timeframe. We encourage as many questions as needed. The agreed price and time are binding for the agreed scope. If the scope changes on our side, it is re-estimated fairly. 2. Technical responsibility & review Our team approaches the product from the business/product side; technical responsibility and correctness of implementation rest with the developer. Every delivery goes through independent technical review before payment. 3. Warranty & latent structural flaws Routine bugs: fixed at no charge for 30 days after delivery. Latent structural/architectural flaws: if they existed from the start but appeared later under load (within the agreed range, e.g. up to 5,000 users), they are fixed at no charge even after the 30 days (race conditions, locking, N+1, double bookings). Exclusions: external changes (third-party OS/API, rate limits) or load beyond the agreed range → re-estimated. 4. Documentation with every delivery Every task is accompanied by a short description of what changed and an update of the .md files, so the project never depends on a single person and the "new developer in 1 hour" rule holds. 5. No subcontracting without approval Whoever takes the task implements it. No delegation to third parties without written approval. 6. All agreements in writing Every agreement (scope, price, time) is made in writing in the Upwork chat. No verbal agreement is binding. 7. IP & data The code, the database and the data belong 100% to us from the moment of creation. 8. Quality & time For every major flaw requiring re-evaluation by an independent auditor: a $50 re-audit fee, deducted from the task. For unjustified delay beyond the agreed deadline: a reasonable daily penalty. No penalty applies if the delay is due to a scope change or missing information from our side. Ευθύνη εκτίμησης Επειδή δουλεύουμε με fixed price, ο developer είναι υπεύθυνος να κάνει όλες τις ερωτήσεις που χρειάζεται πριν δώσει τιμή και χρόνο. Ενθαρρύνουμε όσες ερωτήσεις θέλει. Η τιμή και ο χρόνος που συμφωνούνται είναι δεσμευτικά για το συμφωνημένο scope. Αν αλλάξει το scope από τη δική μας πλευρά, επανεκτιμάται δίκαια. 2. Τεχνική ευθύνη & review Η ομάδα προσεγγίζει το προϊόν από πλευρά business/product· η τεχνική ευθύνη και η ορθότητα της υλοποίησης βαραίνουν τον developer. Κάθε παράδοση περνά από independent technical review πριν την πληρωμή. 3. Εγγύηση & κρυφά δομικά ελαττώματα Routine bugs: διορθώνονται χωρίς χρέωση για 30 ημέρες μετά την παράδοση. Κρυφά δομικά/αρχιτεκτονικά ελαττώματα: αν υπήρχαν από την αρχή αλλά εμφανίστηκαν αργότερα υπό φόρτο (εντός του συμφωνημένου εύρους, π.χ. έως 5.000 χρήστες), διορθώνονται χωρίς χρέωση ακόμη και μετά τις 30 ημέρες (race conditions, locking, N+1, double bookings). Εξαιρέσεις: εξωτερικές αλλαγές (OS/API τρίτων, rate limits) ή φόρτος πέρα από το συμφωνημένο εύρος → επανεκτίμηση. 4. Documentation με κάθε παράδοση Κάθε task συνοδεύεται από σύντομη περιγραφή του τι άλλαξε και ενημέρωση των αρχείων .md, ώστε να μην εξαρτάται το project από ένα άτομο και να ισχύει ο κανόνας «νέος developer σε 1 ώρα». 5. No subcontracting χωρίς έγκριση Αυτός που αναλαμβάνει το task το υλοποιεί. Καμία ανάθεση σε τρίτους χωρίς γραπτή έγκριση. 6. Όλες οι συμφωνίες γραπτά Κάθε συμφωνία (scope, τιμή, χρόνος) γίνεται γραπτά στο Upwork chat. Καμία προφορική συμφωνία δεν είναι δεσμευτική. 7. IP & δεδομένα Ο κώδικας, η βάση και τα δεδομένα ανήκουν 100% σε εμάς από τη δημιουργία. 8. Ποιότητα & χρόνος Για κάθε major flaw που απαιτεί επανέλεγχο από ανεξάρτητο auditor: re-audit fee $50, αφαιρούμενο από το task. Για αδικαιολόγητη καθυστέρηση πέρα από το συμφωνημένο deadline: λογική ημερήσια ποινή. Δεν εφαρμόζεται ποινή αν η καθυστέρηση οφείλεται σε αλλαγή scope ή έλλειψη πληροφοριών από τη δική μας πλευρά.
