Lighting Designer — Luxury Villa (Interior, Exterior & Landscape) | Japandi Aesthetic

OVERVIEW We're a luxury interior design and landscaping studio in Abu Dhabi working in the Japandi style — warm, layered, calm spaces with no visible glare. The villa's architecture and full interior design are complete. We need a lighting designer to develop the complete lighting scheme: position and specify the luminaires, run the calculations, and design the control and scene strategy across interior, exterior, and landscape. This is a high-end residential project where lighting is central to the experience. We're looking for someone who designs light — to the space as designed — not someone who just places downlights. SCOPE & DELIVERABLES - Interior lighting plan — position and specify all luminaires to suit the completed interior design (accent, task, and ambient layers tied to the furniture plan, focal points, and key material surfaces), overlaid on the provided ceiling design. - Exterior and landscape lighting plan — façade, paths, trees/uplighting, steps, and feature/water areas (designed from scratch). - Procurement-ready fixture schedule (Excel): type, model, CCT, CRI, beam angle, wattage, IP rating, dimming protocol, finish. - Photometric calculations in DIALux evo or Relux — lux levels and uniformity per space. - Lighting control and scene strategy — zones, scenes, and recommended system (e.g. DALI / Lutron / KNX). - Circuiting and load schedule for the electrical contractor. - Short design narrative explaining the layering and mood intent. AESTHETIC TARGET Warm (~2700K), high CRI (90+), dimmable, hidden/indirect sources, glare-controlled, layered. WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE - Floor plans plus the finalized ceiling design (DWG) - Furniture / FF&E layout - Finishes and materials schedule - Elevations and key joinery/millwork details - Renders / mood references (where available) - Landscape, hardscape, and planting plans ENGAGEMENT Fixed-price, milestone-based. We'll begin with a small paid test before awarding the full villa. What was your exact role? -How would you light a Japandi living space to feel warm and calm with zero visible glare — what CCT, CRI, and layering approach? -Which calculation software do you use, and can you share a sample DIALux/Relux report? -How do you approach exterior and landscape lighting for a villa — fixture types, IP ratings, transformers, control? -What control system would you recommend for scene-based residential lighting, and have you specified it on a built project?
