Luxury Handbag Development Consultant Needed – Construction, Materials & Tech Pack

I'm the founder of a small, handmade fashion brand based in Brooklyn. I create one-of-a-kind womenswear, and one of our products is a kiss clasp clutch purse made from silk scarves. I already have working prototypes, so I'm not looking for someone to design a new handbag from scratch. Instead, I'm looking for an experienced handbag development specialist who can help me refine and elevate an existing design. The overall concept and construction are already established. I need someone with deep knowledge of handbag construction who can consult on ways to improve the bag's quality, durability, consistency, and longevity while maintaining its handmade character. The consultation may include: - Reviewing my existing prototypes and identifying areas for improvement. - Recommendations for better hardware, kiss- clasp frames, chains, closures, and other components. - Advice on interfacing, stabilizers, reinforcement materials, adhesives, and construction techniques that work well with delicate silk fabrics. - Suggestions for improving durability and identifying potential failure points. - Ideas for simplifying construction where appropriate without sacrificing quality. - Guidance on luxury-quality finishing techniques. - Recommendations for reputable wholesalers or suppliers for hardware, interfacing, and specialty handbag materials. - Creation of a professional tech pack for the finalized design. This bag will continue to be produced entirely in-house by our small brand. I am not looking to outsource manufacturing or production. My goal is to build a refined, repeatable process that we can continue making ourselves. The ideal candidate has experience with luxury handbags or accessories product development, understands handbag engineering and construction, and enjoys solving technical design challenges. Experience working with textile handbags or premium fabric-based accessories is a big plus. This project will begin as a paid consultation reviewing my existing prototypes. If we're a great fit, I'd love to continue working together through additional refinement, sourcing recommendations, tech pack development, and future product improvements.
