Mobile App Developer for Social and AI Chat Integration - DC/MD/VA preferred

We are seeking an experienced mobile app developer to create a fully functional MVP that combines social features with an AI chat component. The app should be clean, stable, scalable, and ready for early user adoption, not just a clickable demo. Specific details about the app’s concept and logic will be shared under NDA. This project has a clear roadmap and strong vision for launch, and we’re looking for a thoughtful, skilled developer who can help architect and build a production-ready product with strong user experience, reliability, and performance. Complete UI/UX designs and flows have already been created in Figma, so this role is focused primarily on development, backend architecture, integrations, and implementation rather than design. Preference will be given to developers located in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia (DMV) area for easier collaboration and communication throughout the project, and occasional in-person meetings if needed. Deliverables & Requirements • Develop a cross-platform mobile app using Flutter or React Native • Build secure user authentication, profiles, friend systems, and group chat functionality • Integrate AI chat features via API with moderation and safeguard controls to prevent misuse • Implement reliable push notifications and time-sensitive user interactions across iOS • Set up scalable backend architecture and database infrastructure • Translate existing Figma designs into a polished, responsive mobile application • Conduct testing, debugging, and QA to ensure app stability and performance • Experience with Firebase, Supabase, WebSockets, or similar real-time technologies preferred • Deliver a functional app ready for deployment to the App Store
