Mobile UX/UI Designer and Developer (Long-Term, High Impact)

Job Description: We’re looking for a highly skilled mobile UI/UX designer who also has hands-on development experience ASAP. This is not just a design role. We need someone who understands how things actually get built and can bridge the gap between design and shipping product and features. We have an existing mobile app used in real-world operational environments. It works, but the experience is not where it needs to be. Our goal is to make the app significantly more intuitive, faster to use, and easier for first-time users to understand without training. This is a long-term engagement with consistent work. If it’s a strong fit, this can grow into a near full-time role. What You’ll Be Working On: Redesigning key mobile app screens to improve usability and clarity Simplifying workflows so users can complete actions quickly with minimal friction Improving authentication flows (login, session handling, edge cases) Creating clean, modern UI that is practical, not just visually appealing Thinking through real-world usage (high-pressure environments, speed matters) Collaborating with our team to ensure designs are feasible and efficient to implement What We’re Looking For: Strong mobile UI/UX portfolio (iOS and/or Android) Experience designing for operational or workflow-heavy apps (not just marketing apps) Solid understanding of how mobile apps are built Ability to contribute to development when needed (React Native, Flutter, or native is a plus) Experience improving authentication flows is a big plus Someone who thinks in systems and user flows, not just screens Detail-oriented and able to identify friction points quickly Experience with apps used by frontline workers, operations teams, or service environments Experience working with existing/legacy apps and improving them Familiarity with performance considerations in mobile apps How We Work: We move fast and value practical solutions over perfect designs We care about real-world usability more than trendy UI We’ll provide clear direction, but we expect you to bring strong opinions and ideas Project Scope: Ongoing engagement (3–6+ months) Potential to scale into near full-time Initial focus on UX improvements and key flow redesigns To Apply: Please include: Links to relevant mobile app work (especially before/after improvements) A quick note on your development experience Examples of apps where you improved usability or reduced friction
