Freelance Documentary Videographer **Contract Position | Las Vegas, NV** We're looking for a talented documentary-style videographer to help capture authentic stories of teachers, alumni, and school communities for a nonprofit This is not a commercial production shoot. We're looking for someone who knows how to observe rather than direct, someone who can capture genuine moments, thoughtful interviews, and the everyday realities of teaching with warmth, professionalism, and strong visual instincts. The content will support a broader social media and digital marketing campaign. The Project You'll work closely with our creative director and communications team to produce a series of short documentary-style interviews and observational footage throughout the Las Vegas area. Subjects may include: * Teachers * School leaders * Classroom environments * Events * Community spaces Projects will typically involve half-day shoots with clear creative briefs provided in advance. --- Responsibilities * Capture high-quality documentary-style interviews * Film observational ("b-roll") footage that complements each story * Record clean, professional audio * Work comfortably in school environments while remaining unobtrusive * Follow creative direction while exercising strong independent judgment in the field * Organize and deliver footage promptly after each shoot * Communicate proactively regarding scheduling and logistics --- We're Looking For Someone Who... * Has documentary, editorial, or branded documentary experience * Can conduct themselves professionally * Has excellent interview instincts and knows how to help people feel comfortable on camera * Has a strong eye for composition, natural light, and visual storytelling * Is dependable, responsive, and collaborative * Is comfortable taking initiative without needing constant direction --- Equipment Applicants should provide their own professional equipment, including: * Camera capable of shooting 4K video * Tripod and/or stabilization * Wireless lavalier microphones * Shotgun microphone (preferred) * Basic lighting kit for interviews (preferred) --- Deliverables For each shoot, you'll typically provide: * Interview footage * B-roll footage * Organized media folders * Basic file labeling and organization Editing is not required for this role. --- To Apply Please include: * A short introduction * Relevant documentary or interview-based work * Portfolio or website * Links to 2–3 projects that best demonstrate your storytelling style * Your day rate (or hourly rate) * Confirmation that you're based in or able to work in the Las Vegas area --- Bonus Qualifications Experience filming: * Educators * Schools * Nonprofits * Community organizations * Social impact campaigns * Human-centered documentary work --- Above all, we're looking for someone who understands that the most compelling stories aren't manufactured—they're observed.
