Online Operations Manager — Used Tire E-Commerce (WooCommerce / Part-Time / Long-Term)
Worldwide
About the Role We are a used tire business based in California, launching an e-commerce website built on WordPress/WooCommerce. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented online operations manager to own the day-to-day running of our online channel on a part-time, long-term basis. This is not a one-time project. We are building a long-term working relationship with someone who takes ownership of our online operations, communicates proactively, and treats our business like their own. What You Will Do • Monitor and respond to customer inquiries escalated by our AI chat agent (Tidio) within 2 hours during your shift • Process online orders: confirm payment, schedule installation appointments, send order confirmations • Update WooCommerce inventory daily to reflect in-store sales and new stock arrivals • Upload new tire listings using our AI inventory plugin (photo upload — AI does the heavy lifting) • Coordinate local delivery scheduling with shop staff for local orders • Monitor and respond to Google and Yelp reviews (drafts provided by AI — you review and post) • Generate a brief daily summary report: orders processed, inquiries handled, inventory updated • Flag any technical issues to the owner or technical team immediately with clear documentation What We Are NOT Looking For • Someone who disappears for days without notice • Someone who needs constant hand-holding on routine tasks • Someone who will not follow documented SOPs and checklists Required Skills & Experience • Proven WooCommerce experience — product management, orders, inventory (must show examples) • Excellent written English — you will be communicating directly with US customers • Experience with customer service tools (Tidio, Zendesk, Freshdesk, or similar) • Reliable internet, computer, and availability during US business hours (Pacific Time preferred) • Upwork Job Success Score of 90% or higher — no exceptions Nice to Have • Experience in automotive, parts, or tire industry • Familiarity with Klaviyo, Twilio, or Make.com automation tools • Spanish language skills (California market) Hours & Compensation • Start: 15–20 hours per week, scaling to 30–40 hours as volume grows • Budget: $5–9/hour depending on experience and location (fixed hourly contract) • Long-term engagement: we promote from within and reward reliability with raises and expanded scope How to Apply — Read This Carefully To be considered, your application must include ALL of the following. Applications missing any item will not be reviewed: 1. Start your message with the words: TIRES READY — this confirms you read the full posting 2. Describe one specific WooCommerce project you managed — what you did, what the site sold, and what results you achieved 3. Answer this question: A customer messages at 8pm saying they ordered the wrong tire size. What do you do? 4. Confirm your available hours in Pacific Time and your current Upwork Job Success Score
