In-Person Personal Technology Support — Saratoga Springs, NY

Please apply only if you live within 30 miles of Saratoga Springs, New York, and can provide in-home support, with in-home references. This is not a remote position. I’m looking for a highly knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy person to provide occasional in-home technology support. Initially, I need someone to: -Assess several pieces of equipment that may need to be replaced, including computers, modem/router, Wi-Fi mesh system and nodes, printers, and related technology -Recommend the appropriate replacement equipment -Install and configure all new equipment, troubleshoot the entire setup, and ensure all household computers, printers, televisions, phones, and other connected devices are properly reconnected and working -Fully install and configure a new Windows computer and equipment I already have -Transfer files, applications, accounts, and settings from my current computer -Replace and configure my modem/router and optimize Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house -Make sure everything is properly connected, organized, secure, and working together -It would also be helpful to find someone who can advise and assist me with Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace products. After the initial setup, I would like to establish an ongoing relationship with someone I can contact for future installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting as needed. I’m fairly technology-capable myself, but I’d like someone who is more knowledgeable, efficient, patient, and good at explaining things. One thing I want to mention upfront: I keep a very clean, shoes-off home and ask anyone working inside to wear the booties I provide and wash their hands upon arrival.
