Project Manager for Marketing Agency

We are a growing web design and digital marketing agency looking for an experienced Website Project Manager to take ownership of our website design and development projects from kickoff through launch. This is not a basic administrative project management role. We are looking for someone who understands how websites are actually built, can manage designers and developers, has a strong eye for detail, and can make sure projects are truly ready before they are sent to clients. Our goal is for you to become the person who keeps website projects moving, catches problems before they become problems, and ensures our team consistently delivers high-quality work. What You'll Be Responsible For You'll manage multiple website projects at various stages of production, including: * Reviewing new projects and making sure the team has everything needed to begin * Breaking projects into clear tasks and assigning work to designers and developers * Tracking deadlines, deliverables, client feedback, and revisions * Following up with team members without needing to be reminded * Reviewing completed work against approved designs, copy, and client requirements * Performing quality assurance before websites or revisions are presented to clients * Checking desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts * Testing links, buttons, navigation, forms, popups, and other website functionality * Making sure client feedback has been addressed completely * Catching inconsistencies, unfinished sections, placeholder content, broken links, formatting problems, and other errors * Identifying blockers early and helping move projects forward * Keeping project documentation and task management organized * Communicating project status clearly with our internal team * Making sure websites are properly prepared for launch * Helping improve our internal website production and QA processes over time The Type of Person We're Looking For The right person is extremely detail-oriented and takes ownership of their work. If a designer says a task is complete, you don't simply mark it complete. You review it. If a client requests five changes, you make sure all five were actually completed. If something looks wrong on mobile, a button goes to the wrong page, or a section doesn't match the approved design, you catch it before the client does. You should be comfortable holding team members accountable while still being professional and easy to work with. Required Experience Please apply only if you have experience managing website design or development projects. Ideally, you have: * Previous experience as a Website Project Manager, Web Project Manager, or Digital Agency Project Manager * Experience working directly with web designers and developers * A strong understanding of the website design and development process * Experience reviewing websites for quality and accuracy * Strong written English communication skills * Excellent organizational and follow-up skills * The ability to manage several projects at once * Experience working remotely with distributed teams * Confidence communicating when something is late, incomplete, or below expectations Platform Experience We primarily build websites in Duda. Direct Duda experience is a major plus. Experience with platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Squarespace, or similar website builders is also useful, provided you understand website production well and are comfortable learning Duda. Experience working inside a digital marketing or web design agency is strongly preferred. What Success Looks Like Within this role, we want to reach the point where: * Website projects consistently stay organized and moving * Team members know exactly what they are responsible for * Deadlines and follow-ups do not get forgotten * Client revision requests are completed correctly the first time * Website mistakes are caught internally rather than by clients * Projects require significantly less day-to-day involvement from agency leadership * You can confidently say whether a website is actually ready to present or launch About the Role This will begin as an ongoing freelance/contract position with the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time. We are not looking for someone to manage one website project and leave. We are looking for someone who can become a long-term part of our website production team. There may also be opportunities to help improve our processes, documentation, QA procedures, and project management systems as you become familiar with how we operate. How to Apply Please include the following in your application: 1. Tell us about your experience managing website design or development projects. 2. What website platforms have you worked with? 3. Have you worked for a web design or digital marketing agency before? 4. Approximately how many website projects have you managed at the same time? 5. Describe your process for reviewing a website before it is sent to a client. 6. Tell us about a time you caught an important mistake before a website launched. 7. Include the phrase "Website QA Matters" at the beginning of your proposal so we know you read the full posting. We're looking for someone who takes real ownership of projects, communicates well, notices the small things, and helps make the entire team better.
