AI SMS Agent — Response Rate Optimization Specialist

Overview I'm looking for someone with hands-on experience improving response rates for AI-powered SMS outreach systems. The core problem is simple: our AI agent sends text messages to inbound leads and response rates are lower than they should be. I want to systematically improve that. What you'll be doing We have an experimentation framework in place that allows us to test different message variants against each other. Your job is to help us identify, design, and validate the variables worth testing — things like message tone, personalization tactics, question structure, message length, and localization strategies. This is not a copywriting job. I'm looking for someone who understands the psychology and mechanics of what makes an SMS message get a reply, and who can help design experiments that produce meaningful signal. Ideal background Experience with SMS lead conversion or conversational AI outreach Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and interpreting results Knowledge of what drives reply rates in B2C or insurance contexts is a strong plus Analytical — you think in hypotheses, not hunches What success looks like A prioritized set of testable hypotheses with clear rationale, and the ability to interpret results as data comes in and recommend what to test next. Engagement type: Short term to start, with potential to extend based on results.
