Project Title ReferenceSenior Telecom & Backend Architect: Voice-over-AI PrototypeAbout the ProjectWe are building a validation MVP for a sovereign digital infrastructure utility called "Voice-over-AI" (VoAI). The platform allows citizens on standard 2G/GSM feature phones to interact with highly localized, advanced language models completely via natural voice speech—bypassing the need for mobile internet, data plans, or smartphones.We have already built out a fully operational React/TypeScript frontend simulation sandbox (Panel A & Panel B) and seeded our relational database. We are looking for an expert Systems Architect to help us harden the backend data routing, telecommunications interfaces, and vector caching logic.Scope of Work & Key ResponsibilitiesTelecom-to-API Gateway Mapping: Design the explicit architectural mapping for routing raw inbound carrier voice streams (via SIP/VXML gateways) and USSD menu requests (via SMPP protocols) directly into our backend infrastructure as clean HTTP POST payloads.Layer 1 Semantic Cache Optimization: Hardening an existing Supabase Deno Edge Function (krio-cache) that intercept inbound speech strings. It must run a Cosine Similarity match against a PostgreSQL pgvector table at a strict 0.80 threshold, serving cached results instantly to achieve a $0 external token cost on repeat traffic.State Machine & Execution Orchestration: Map a resilient execution pipeline (e.g., using a microservices state-machine pattern) to handle call sequencing safely (Ingest $\rightarrow$ Phonetic Matrix Intent Map $\rightarrow$ Conditional Bank API Ledger Bridge $\rightarrow$ Synthesized Voice Response) ensuring minor network drops don't drop live phone lines.Required Technical Stack & ExpertiseDatabase & Curation: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational schema design, and pgvector optimization (experience with HNSW indexing is a major plus).Backend Cloud Ecosystem: Expert-level proficiency with Supabase, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Deno Edge Runtime environments.Telephony Systems: Direct engineering experience interfacing with enterprise telecommunications setups, VoIP platforms, SIP trunks, IVR systems, or cellular shortcode networks.
