Senior Network Engineer – UniFi Network Refresh & SonicWall Migration

We are seeking a senior Network Engineer to lead the design, configuration, migration, cutover, and validation of a complete enterprise network refresh. The selected consultant will design the network architecture, migrate our existing SonicWall firewall configuration to UniFi Enterprise, implement secure VLAN segmentation, validate high availability, and deliver complete as-built documentation. This is a hands-on implementation project requiring on-site work in New Jersey. Environment The deployment includes: 2 × UniFi Enterprise Firewall Core (EF-Core) configured as a High Availability pair 11 × UniFi Enterprise switches 36 × WiFi 7 Access Points Approximately 330 wired devices: 80 desktops 60 VoIP phones 150 existing Hikvision IP cameras connected to an existing Hikvision NVR 20 televisions Approximately 100 wireless devices Existing SonicWall firewall environment to be migrated Responsibilities Design the overall network topology, IP addressing plan, VLAN architecture, and redundancy strategy. Configure the UniFi Enterprise Firewall Core HA pair and validate automatic failover. Design and implement secure VLAN segmentation for staff, VoIP, security cameras, guest Wi-Fi, and IoT devices. Migrate the existing SonicWall firewall configuration including firewall policies, NAT, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, routing, QoS, logging, and content filtering to the UniFi platform. Configure IDS/IPS, CyberSecure Enterprise, switching, PoE profiles, and Wi-Fi. Configure switch ports and PoE to support the existing Hikvision camera infrastructure and NVR, ensuring proper VLAN assignment, connectivity, and bandwidth. Validate operation of all existing cameras after migration. Produce and execute a detailed cutover plan with rollback procedures. Create editable physical and logical network diagrams and complete as-built documentation. Perform post-cutover validation and knowledge transfer to internal IT.
