Ship Station Setpu/Shopify Expert

Freelancers only (no agencies please) Based in the US and Fluent in English We are looking for an experienced ShipStation and Shopify shipping expert to help us build, optimize, and manage complex shipping rate logic as we transition from primarily FedEx to include UPS while also continuing to support multiple shipping carriers, including FedEx and UPS. Our business ships highly time-sensitive perishable products overnight, so accuracy, reliability, carrier logic, and customer-facing shipping rates are critical. We need someone who understands how to structure shipping rules across Shopify, ShipStation, and carrier integrations so that rates display correctly, fulfillment workflows run smoothly, and customers are charged appropriately based on order details, delivery date, location, package type, and carrier requirements. Responsibilities include: - Set up and optimize shipping logic in Shopify and ShipStation - Support our transition from FedEx to UPS - Build rules for using multiple carriers, including FedEx and UPS - Configure complex rate logic based on order weight, destination, delivery date, shipping method, and product/order type - Help determine when UPS vs. FedEx should be used - Review and troubleshoot live shipping rates displayed at checkout - Implement rates that support overnight shipping, Saturday delivery (incremental fees) , and carrier-specific surcharges Help prevent customer undercharging or overcharging Ensure fulfillment rules are scalable as order volume grows Provide clear documentation and recommendations for ongoing management Required in your application: Please include specific examples of your experience implementing ShipStation and Shopify shipping logic, especially where you have worked with: Multiple carriers, including UPS and FedEx Carrier-calculated rates Complex rate rules Overnight or time-sensitive shipping Shopify checkout shipping configuration ShipStation automation rules and service mapping Please also describe any similar projects you have completed and how you approached the setup, testing, and troubleshooting process. We are looking for someone who can quickly understand our current shipping setup, recommend the best structure, and help us implement a reliable system for Shopify, ShipStation, UPS, and FedEx.
