Short-Form Video Editor + iPhone Video/Photo Coach for Cultural Exchange Program Marketing
Worldwide
OVERVIEW We are looking for a short-form video editor and mobile content coach to help us create authentic social media videos that showcase international internship and trainee experiences. Our organization sponsors international interns and trainees in the U.S. We want to improve how we capture and share participant stories for marketing, recruitment, orientation, social media, and professional spotlight content. This role has two related parts: 1. Editing participant-submitted phone footage into short “day in the life” videos. 2. Training a few staff members to capture better interview footage, B-roll, and photos during in-person program site visits. The ideal person understands social media storytelling, user-generated content, iPhone video/photo capture, basic audio setup, and editing footage that is informal but still polished and professional. PROJECT 1: Participant “Day in the Life” Social Videos Participants will submit short video clips filmed on their phones. These clips may include: - A short introduction: first name, country of origin, host company, and internship/trainee field. - “Day in the life” footage: commute, desk, project work, meeting prep, events, neighborhood, lunch, etc. - A short reflection: what they have learned, what surprised them, or what they want others to know about the experience. We need these clips edited into short, authentic videos for social media. These should feel participant-led and natural, not overly corporate or overproduced. Deliverables may include: -30–60 second vertical video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn, and similar platforms. -Shorter cutdown version, if appropriate. -Captions/subtitles. -Light music, pacing, and cleanup. -Simple title cards or on-screen text. -Exported files suitable for social media posting. -Optional version participants could use as a professional spotlight on LinkedIn or in a portfolio. PROJECT 2: Staff Coaching for Better Field Footage Our staff regularly visit interns, trainees, host companies, and program sites. We want to train a small group of staff members to capture better footage and photos during these visits using iPhones and simple, user-friendly gear. Training topics should include: -How to record good interview footage on an iPhone. -How to capture useful B-roll. -How to frame shots and use natural light. -How to record cleaner audio using a simple mic. -How to take good photos for marketing use. -How to avoid common mistakes with sound, lighting, framing, and background noise. -How to capture footage that is useful for later editing. We are not trying to turn staff into professional videographers. We need a practical, repeatable process they can use while already traveling for site visits. Possible coaching deliverables: -1–2 virtual training sessions for a small staff group. -A simple iPhone filming/photo checklist. -Sample shot list for site visits. -Sample interview prompts. -Recommended low-cost gear, such as microphones, mini-tripods, lights, or simple editing/storage tools. -Review of sample footage with feedback. Ongoing Editing Need After staff are trained, we would also like this person to edit the footage into short marketing videos that showcase our cultural exchange programs. These videos may include participant stories, host company/site visit footage, event highlights, testimonials, and general program marketing content. IDEAL EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with experience in some or all of the following: -Short-form social video editing. -UGC-style or participant-shot video. -iPhone/mobile video production. -Interview and testimonial videos. -B-roll planning and editing. -Social media content for nonprofits, education, cultural exchange, travel, internships, or mission-driven organizations. -Coaching non-video professionals to capture better footage. -Creating practical filming guides or shot lists. STYLE The tone should be warm, authentic, and human. We do not want videos that feel like stiff corporate commercials. We want the finished content to feel real and approachable while still being clear, well-paced, and professional enough for marketing. FIRST PAID TEST PROJECT* We would like to begin with a paid pilot using participant-submitted footage. For the test project, we would ask you to: Edit one short vertical “day in the life” video from raw phone clips. Provide captions/on-screen text. Give brief feedback on the footage. Suggest improvements to our participant filming instructions. Share a short outline for how you would train staff to capture stronger footage during site visits. If the pilot goes well, we are interested in ongoing monthly video editing and a small virtual staff coaching package. TO APPLY Please include: -A few relevant examples of short-form social videos, testimonial videos, UGC-style edits, or mobile-shot content. -Any experience coaching non-video professionals on filming or photography. -Your suggested approach for the paid pilot. -Your estimated cost for the pilot project. -Your estimated cost for 1–2 virtual staff training sessions. -Your availability for ongoing monthly editing work. *Budget in posting is estimate for pilot project.
