Structural Engineer for Residential House Elevation & Foundation Design (New Jersey)

Job Description: We are looking for a licensed and experienced Structural Engineer to assist with a residential house elevation project located at 527 Columbia Street, New Milford, New Jersey (07646). The project involves evaluating and designing structural solutions for raising an existing residential structure (house elevation), including foundation assessment and elevation planning in compliance with New Jersey building codes. The engineer will be responsible for reviewing the existing structure and providing detailed engineering drawings and calculations required for permitting and construction. Project Scope: -Site structural assessment (based on provided measurements/photos/surveys). -Evaluation of existing foundation and structural system. -Engineering design for house elevation (approx. elevation level: 6 feet). -Foundation modification or replacement design (if required). -Stamped structural drawings suitable for NJ permit submission. -Load calculations and structural safety compliance report. -Coordination support (if needed) with local contractor or architect. Required Skills: -Licensed Structural Engineer (PE preferred – New Jersey or US licensed) -Experience with residential house lifting / elevation projects. -Strong knowledge of New Jersey building codes. -Foundation engineering (pier, beam, slab adjustments). -Structural analysis. -Ability to provide stamped drawings for permit approval. Preferred Experience Level: Intermediate (3–5 years of relevant architectural experience preferred) Project Type: One-time project with potential for ongoing collaboration on future residential design work. Additional Notes: We are looking for a qualified architect who can handle real permit-level architectural work. This is not a drafting-only task. The focus is on proper design, compliance, and approval-ready documentation.
