## Video Editor (Short-Form / Social) - Ongoing Contract, ~0.5 Day/Week ### About the role We're a health and fitness app looking for a short-form video editor to cut founder-led content and performance ads for Instagram and TikTok. We need someone who can turn a mixture of selfie-style founder content and B-roll into thumb-stopping edits that hold attention from the first frame and drive conversion to app download. This is an ongoing contract starting at roughly 0.5 days per week, with potential to grow as our content output scales. ### What you'll be doing - Editing vertical short-form videos (9:16) optimised for Instagram and TikTok - Cutting for retention: strong hooks in the first 1-2 seconds, tight pacing, no dead air - Adding captions/subtitles, on-screen text, B-roll, app UI, sound design, and light motion graphics where they earn their place - Matching a consistent, authentic tone - Delivering platform-ready exports with fast turnaround on each batch ### What we're looking for - A portfolio of short-form work with proven hooks and retention-focused editing (please share examples, ideally with view/performance context if you have it) - Fluency with the native feel of TikTok and Reels: pacing, captions, trends, sound - Strong instinct for where to cut, what to keep, and how to make talking-head footage feel dynamic - Reliable communication and consistent turnaround on a weekly cadence - Proficiency in Premiere Pro and/or CapCut ### Nice to have - Experience editing for fitness, health, wellness, or founder/personal brands - Comfort working from both light and highly detailed briefs and exercising your own creative judgement - Ability to scale up output as our content volume grows ### Details - **Type:** Ongoing contract, ~0.5 days/week to start - **Format:** Vertical short-form (Instagram / TikTok) - **Apply with:** Portfolio link (short-form work specifically) and a one-line note on your editing turnaround When applying, share 2-3 examples of short-form edits you're proud of and tell us briefly why each one works.
