## 2) Network / Firewall Engineer – As Needed **Title:** Network / Firewall Engineer – As Needed | Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, VPN, SMB MSP Projects We’re a growing MSP building a bench of trusted contractors we can use for **as-needed network, firewall, and infrastructure work** across our SMB client base. Our clients are primarily **small to mid-sized professional services firms**, and we’re looking for a contractor who can support network projects, escalations, and troubleshooting when needed. This is **not a full-time role**. We’re looking for a strong **network / firewall engineer** who is open to **project-based and as-needed work** for an MSP environment. ### Typical work may include: * Firewall configuration, troubleshooting, cleanup, and replacement projects * Site-to-site VPN and remote access VPN troubleshooting * Switch, VLAN, wireless, and basic routing troubleshooting * Supporting office cutovers, network refreshes, and infrastructure changes * Reviewing network configurations and assisting with remediation or optimization work * Working with onsite technicians while handling remote engineering / troubleshooting * Assisting with network documentation and technical recommendations ### We’re especially interested in engineers with experience in some or all of the following: * **Fortinet / FortiGate** * **SonicWall** * **Cisco Meraki** * **UniFi / Ubiquiti** * VPN troubleshooting and configuration * SMB network environments, branch office setups, and office relocations / cutovers ### Ideal experience: * Prior experience supporting **SMB clients** or working in an **MSP environment** * Comfortable being pulled into short-term projects, escalations, or after-hours cutovers * Able to troubleshoot both the logical side and the practical side of small business networks * Strong communication and documentation skills * Comfortable coordinating with other contractors or onsite field technicians when needed ### Engagement structure: We are looking for someone who is open to: * **As-needed / project-based work** * Helping with planned cutovers, firewall replacements, network refreshes, and escalations * Work that may range from a few hours to multi-day projects depending on the client need * Periodic after-hours work for cutovers or urgent issues ### When applying, please include: 1.
