Now in Books is a growing book media brand dedicated to amplifying new and diverse authors. We’re looking for an experienced creative and strategic Social Media Manager to support the continued growth of our brand across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This role is ideal for someone who deeply understands book culture, online reading communities, engaging short-form content and who can balance strategy, creativity, analytics, and trend awareness. Our content focuses on diverse reads and conversations around books, publishing, and culture, with a strong emphasis on BIPOC authors and stories. We’re looking for a collaborator who genuinely loves books and understands how to create engaging content that feels current, informative, community-driven, and shareable. This is a freelance position. What You’ll Do: - Develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar - Create and schedule a mix of weekly social posts and stories including: - Themed book lists carousels - Reels/short-form video content - Community-driven or trend-based posts - Fun and engaging polls - Research books, publishing trends, literary conversations, and culturally relevant topics aligned with our brand - Write engaging captions and select relevant hashtags - Design branded graphics and social assets - Support audience growth and engagement strategies - Track performance metrics and provide: - Monthly analytics reports - Quarterly strategy insights, performance, and recommendations - Help evolve and strengthen the brand voice and visual identity Ideal Candidate: - Experience managing social media platforms for a media brand, publisher, or book creator - Strong understanding of individual social media platform growth strategies and social media platform trends - Experience creating high-performing carousel and reels content - Graphic design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools - Familiarity with Bookstagram/BookTok, publishing news, reading culture, and online literary communities - An avid reader with strong knowledge of popular fiction titles, celebrity memoirs, and genre fiction including: - Literary fiction - Mystery/thrillers - Romance - Sci-fi & Fantasy - Young adult - Passion for diverse literature and highlighting BIPOC authors and stories - Comfortable working independently and bringing proactive content ideas and strategies Please include: - Relevant book/media related social media content you created or portfolios - Your monthly rate or preferred pricing structure We’re looking for someone who can help us thoughtfully grow our audience, strengthen community engagement, and continue building a recognizable voice in the online book space.
