# AI Warranty & Returns Portal Developer Required ## Project Overview We are an Australian automotive parts supplier seeking an experienced developer or development team to build a custom AI-powered Warranty & Returns Portal. The purpose of the platform is to automate warranty claims and return requests by applying a set of business rules that we will provide. The system must not simply collect information. It must be capable of reading our warranty policies, applying those policies to customer submissions, reviewing uploaded evidence, and determining the correct outcome automatically. The AI should function as a digital warranty manager. ## Core Objective We will provide a detailed set of warranty and return rules. The AI must: * Read the rules. * Read customer responses. * Review uploaded photos and documents. * Analyse diagnostic reports. * Apply the relevant rules. * Determine the correct outcome. * Explain why the outcome was reached. * Generate a professional customer response. The outcome must be generated automatically based on the rules provided. ## Example If our rules state: "Electrical items are sold as-is and are non-returnable." The AI should identify that the claim relates to an electrical item and automatically decline the claim while explaining which rule was applied. If our rules state: "Body parts may be returned within 7 days of receipt or 15 days from invoice date." The AI should calculate the dates automatically and determine whether the return qualifies. The AI should not guess. The AI should follow the rules exactly as provided. ## Dynamic Claim Questionnaire The customer will complete an online form. Questions should change automatically depending on: * Part category * Warranty type * Return request type * Previous answers * Trade or retail customer The goal is to collect all information required for the AI to make an accurate decision. ## File Uploads Customers must be able to upload: * Photos * Videos * PDF reports * Workshop invoices * Diagnostic reports * Proof of purchase The AI should analyse these files and use the information when applying the rules. ## Automated Outcomes The AI should determine: ### Approved or ### Declined based on the rules supplied. Each decision must include: * Outcome * Reasoning * Rules applied * Supporting evidence reviewed * Customer response ## Admin Dashboard Staff must be able to: * View all claims * View uploaded files * Review AI decisions * Search claims * Add notes * Export claims * Modify rules * View audit history Every decision must record: * Which rules were applied * What information was considered * Why the outcome was reached ## Rules Engine This is the most important component. We require a flexible rules engine that allows us to: * Add new rules * Modify existing rules * Remove rules * Change decision logic without rebuilding the entire system. Ideally, we would like warranty rules to be stored in a knowledge base or policy library that the AI references when making decisions. ## Preferred Technologies Open to recommendations. Experience with: * OpenAI * Claude * Next.js * React * Node.js * PostgreSQL * Supabase * AWS is highly desirable. ## To Apply Please start your proposal with: "Warranty AI" and provide: 1.
