If you love solving real engineering challenges at scale, this role is for you. We are building the largest online shop for household appliance spare parts in Germany and the first of its kind in Switzerland. Think Fixpart.de, but better. The market is massive, fragmented, and waiting for a dominant player. You will build the entire platform from scratch. The core integration is the API — a comprehensive spare parts data feed. On top of that, you'll design the architecture, the database, the storefront, the search engine, and the admin/order management system. This is not a template job. We need someone who can look at a complex B2C spare parts shop — with millions of SKUs, deep product hierarchies (brand, appliance type, model, part) — and build it right from day one. **Required technical skills** - PHP / Laravel or Symfony - React or Vue.js (frontend) - MySQL / PostgreSQL - REST API integration (XML/JSON) - Elasticsearch / Meilisearch - Linux server / VPS management - Docker / CI/CD pipelines - E-commerce architecture - XML / EDI data processing - Payment gateway integration - Large-scale catalog management - SEO fundamentals for shops **Key responsibilities** - Integrate the API and other supplier feeds (product data, stock, pricing) - Design a scalable database for 20M+ SKUs with complex part-model relationships - Build a fast, faceted search (by appliance brand, model number, part type) - Develop the full storefront (product pages, cart, checkout, order tracking) - Build admin dashboard: order management, supplier sync, pricing rules - Integrate payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna/BNPL for German market) - Ensure GDPR compliance, security best practices, and performance optimization - Own the technical roadmap and architecture decisions long-term **What we offer — co-founder, not freelancer** Revenue-linked compensation - Modest base pay during the initial build phase — then your compensation scales consistently as revenue grows once the shop goes live.
