Next.js developer needed to finalise web project
Worldwide
We're looking for a senior freelance developer to cover our lead developer on a high-profile international event website for a government client. The site launches in early July, so these two weeks are the final pre-launch sprint: the build is mature, the conventions are documented, and the job is to carry it safely through launch-readiness, not to architect from scratch. You'll be the sole developer on the project for the duration, working on-site (or remotely) against a thorough written spec, with a warm handover on either side of the engagement and the wider team around you for client and design questions. Day rate negotiable. The project is under NDA; full details shared on engagement. What you'll be doing - Polishing and shipping a multilingual, CMS-driven marketing site through its launch window - Wiring CMS content and supporting editors as translated copy lands across locales - Building out static pages (legal/policy) and the SEO layer: metadata, structured data, sitemaps - Cross-locale QA (including right-to-left), accessibility checks and launch-readiness passes - Raising small, reviewable PRs and keeping the build green throughout Must-have skills - Next.js (App Router): Server Components by default, generateStaticParams, ISR, and a clear sense of when client components are genuinely needed - TypeScript: Strict, typed end-to-end, no any - Tailwind CSS v4 - Internationalisation: next-intl or equivalent, and real production RTL experience: logical properties, mirrored UI, locale-aware date/number formatting. Arabic localisation in production is a strong plus - Accessibility: WCAG 2.1 AA as a working habit, not an afterthought - Comfortable working solo against a written spec: small PRs, trunk-based flow, pnpm, Vercel Nice to have - Scroll/entrance animation work with Motion (Framer Motion), including reduced-motion handling - Playwright for visual/E2E checks - Performance-budget discipline (Core Web Vitals on content-heavy marketing sites) - Sanity CMS: Schema definition, GROQ, type generation, embedded Studio - Experience with government, diplomatic or other sign-off-heavy clients
