Automation Engineer - Mid-to-senior, Australia-based

Our sub-brand, ATALO requires an experienced, Australia-based backend-leaning integration/platform engineer who can refine the automation layers connecting our tools to client-facing platforms and downstream workflows. Why we need you: We have an automation pipeline in place - as we scale, we need you to pressure test what we've built, set us up for success and even improve what is there. This includes: * Build and maintain services on Google Cloud Run, Firestore, Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler and Secret Manager. Integrate third-party APIs as clean, idempotent vendor adapters, GoHighLevel/LeadConnector today; Microsoft 365 email, Google Workspace, ClickUp, Xero etc. * Design event-driven workflows that are idempotent, replay-safe, and observable * Ship client-facing forms through our design/delivery pipeline. * Own deploys and config across staging/prod (GitHub Actions, Wrangler/Cloudflare Pages, Cloud Run) in a multi-tenant setup. * Keep the test suite green and document each workflow. Must be familiar with at most of the below: Strong TypeScript/Node: async, typed APIs, clean module boundaries. Real experience with a serverless cloud backend (GCP preferred: Cloud Run / Firestore / Pub/Sub; equivalent AWS/Azure fine). Third-party REST integration: OAuth, webhooks, polling, idempotency, retries, rate-limits, pagination. Comfort with CI/CD, secrets, and multiple environments; infra-as-config mindset. Writes simple, boring, testable code and pragmatic tests. GoHighLevel / LeadConnector, Cloudflare (Pages/Workers), Firestore/NoSQL data modelling. Frontend/build tooling for embeddable widgets (vanilla JS/TS, no heavy framework). Domain familiarity: accounting/CRM tooling (Xero, ClickUp, Salesforce). You will be using AI coding tools heavily, leveraging them to move fast but own correctness and judgment yourself. Finally, we need you to be: Autonomous: you can take a loosely-specified problem, ask the right questions, improve the solution and ship... not wait to be handed tickets. Clear communicator (a big reason this role is onshore AU). Bias to idempotent, multi-tenant, well-documented designs over cleverness.
