AI system engineer - building custom agents

We are looking for an exceptional AI Systems Architect to work directly with the founder of a fast-growing consumer brand and biotechnology company. This role is for someone who understands how to leverage AI, automation, integrations, data, and software to create operational leverage across an entire organization. The ideal candidate is not just a prompt engineer or automation specialist. We are looking for a builder who can evaluate business processes, identify opportunities for automation, and design intelligent systems that save time, improve decision-making, and increase efficiency. What You'll Do • Build AI-powered workflows and agents that automate research, reporting, operations, sales, customer service, and internal processes. • Integrate business systems including Shopify, CRM platforms, email platforms, databases, spreadsheets, accounting software, and third-party applications. • Design dashboards and reporting systems that consolidate data across multiple platforms. • Develop custom AI agents and assistants that can analyze information, generate insights, and perform business tasks. • Identify repetitive workflows and create scalable automation solutions. • Advise on the latest AI tools, platforms, and technologies that can improve company operations. • Work directly with the founder to continuously improve systems, processes, and decision-making. Ideal Candidate • Strong understanding of AI tools, large language models, AI agents, automation platforms, and workflow design. • Experience integrating platforms such as Shopify, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Gmail, Slack, Notion, Airtable, Google Workspace, APIs, and other business systems. • Comfortable working across both technical and business challenges. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently design solutions. • Experience building custom automations, integrations, dashboards, and AI-powered workflows. • Ability to learn quickly and adapt as AI technology evolves. • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action. Bonus Experience • E-commerce and Shopify ecosystems. • Consumer products (CPG), health and wellness, food, biotech, or startup environments. • Data analytics and business intelligence. • Custom software development and API integrations. • AI agent platforms and emerging AI technologies. What Success Looks Like Within the first 90 days, you will identify and implement several high-impact automation opportunities that save significant founder and team time, improve reporting visibility, and create scalable systems across the business.
