Web/Product Designer to polish & elevate an existing clinic website (Figma)

We run a healthcare clinic and have a live website we're happy with — but we want a designer to take it from "good" to "polished and distinctive." This is a refinement and elevation job, not a rebuild or a rebrand. The structure and direction are working; we want a sharper, more intentional version of what's already there. The site was built by a non-designer (me), and the visual system lives in one place: a centralized set of design tokens (colors, typography, spacing) that drive the whole site. There's no existing Figma file — you'll build a clean one from scratch, using our live site, screenshots, and current token files as your reference. You'll design in Figma and we'll implement in code, so the most important thing is that your work is systematic — tokens and components, not just nice-looking screens. SCOPE Phase 1 — Foundations Refine the core visual system and deliver it as proper Figma variables/styles: Refined color palette (based on what we alrady have.) Refined type scale (sizes, weights, line-height, hierarchy) These need to map cleanly to CSS custom properties — we maintain the tokens in two files (theme.css, typography.css), so your Figma variables should translate to ours one-to-one. Get this right and the polish ripples across every page. Phase 2 — Pages Polish the homepage plus 3 archetype page templates. These pages share many of the same components. DELIVERABLES (Figma) Design tokens as Figma variables/styles (color, type, spacing) High-fidelity mockups: homepage + 3 archetype templates, desktop and mobile Light handoff notes so a developer can implement without guesswork WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR A strong systems thinker — typography, spacing, and hierarchy are where you shine, not just decoration Comfortable designing within a token-based setup and you understand how Figma variables map to CSS variables Someone who can elevate an existing direction tastefully — improve and sharpen it, make opinionated calls where they help, but don't reinvent it from scratch Solid responsive/mobile design and clean handoff habits Bonus: experience with healthcare or other trust-driven brands; Portuguese is a plus but not required TO APPLY, please answer: Share 1–2 examples where you polished or elevated an existing product/marketing site (not a from-scratch rebrand).
