Primary Objectives The platform must accomplish two goals simultaneously: Direct-to-Consumer Online Sales Create a complete online purchasing experience that allows customers anywhere in the United States to discover products, evaluate options, and complete purchases confidently without requiring an in-store visit. Support and Expand Boutique Appointments The website should strengthen-not replace-our existing retail business. Online experiences should encourage engagement with our boutiques and preserve appointment volume while supporting ecommerce growth. Project Scope Shopify Platform Development - Build a fully custom Shopify theme from the ground up - Mobile-first implementation optimized for social-media-driven traffic - Editorial, premium visual experience appropriate for a luxury bridal brand - Maintainable architecture that can be managed by a lean internal team Catalog & Merchandising - 300-500 bridal gown and accessory SKUs - Advanced product discovery and filtering experience - High-converting product detail pages designed for high-value purchases - Clear differentiation between special-order products and ready-to-ship inventory - Product architecture supporting multiple purchasing workflows BridalLive Integration (Critical Requirement) BridalLive serves as our operational system of record and must be deeply integrated into the ecommerce platform. Requirements include: - Real-time inventory synchronization - Order write-backs from Shopify into BridalLive - Unified customer record management - Appointment booking synchronization and write-backs - Preservation of existing BridalLive workflows and automations Candidates should have prior experience integrating Shopify with third-party POS, inventory management, scheduling, or CRM platforms at a similar level of complexity. Payments & Checkout - Secure transactional checkout - Klarna integration - Afterpay integration - Customer-friendly financing and payment-plan experiences Analytics & Marketing Infrastructure - GA4 implementation - Google Tag Manager configuration - Conversion tracking foundation - Analytics architecture supporting future optimization efforts What Success Looks Like We will consider the project successful when: - The ecommerce experience reflects the warmth, professionalism, and premium nature of our in-store brand - Customers can confidently complete purchases without uncertainty around fit, returns, timelines, or fulfillment - Appointment generation remains stable or improves after launch - Inventory and order data remain synchronized across ecommerce and retail operations - Internal teams can manage and expand the platform without requiring a large dedicated development staff - The platform is positioned for future growth, optimization, and merchandising expansion Additional Information - 90-day post-launch support required - Experience with luxury retail, bridal, fashion, apparel, or considered-purchase ecommerce is strongly preferred - Please include relevant portfolio examples and details regarding your role in those projects
