Web Designer to Build a Professional Consulting Website (Build-Only, Full Handover)

Overview I'm the founder of a people & change consulting firm. I need an experienced designer to build a polished, professional marketing website and then hand it over to me completely. This is a build-only project — I will own and maintain the site myself afterward. I am not looking for ongoing hosting, a maintenance retainer, or any arrangement where you keep control of the site. I already have my branding, a homepage design mockup, and the content ready, so this is primarily a build/implementation project — not a design-from-scratch or copywriting job. Platform I'm open on platform — recommend what you'd use to deliver a professional, easy-to-maintain site (e.g., Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress, or similar). It must meet these conditions: 1. The site lives on an account owned by me, on my own subscription/hosting — you do not host it and there's no ongoing dependency on you. 2. I can edit text, images, and pages myself afterward without needing a developer. 3. No proprietary lock-in — no custom plugins or code that only you can maintain. Any custom code must be documented and removable. Please tell me which platform you recommend and why in your application. What I need 1. A clean, modern, premium site that builds trust with senior buyers (CEOs, CHROs, founders). 2. Full handover at the end: all access transferred to me, a short walkthrough, and simple documentation so I can manage the site on my own. 3. Professional, mobile-responsive design that matches my brand and mockup precisely. Scope / deliverables 1. A multi-page site — roughly 7–9 pages (final list to be confirmed together). Likely pages: -Home -Services overview + individual service pages (HR Strategy, Change Management, Coaching, Learning & Development, Talent) - Approach / How we work - About / Founder - Products (our AI-enabled tool, "Change Pulse by Douglas McColl") - Contact 2. Homepage built to my mockup: hero, stats/proof band, services grid, a 3-step "approach" section, closing call-to-action, and footer. 3. A working contact form and basic on-page SEO setup (page titles, meta descriptions, alt text). 4. Mobile-responsive across all pages and a quick accessibility/contrast check. 5. A 30–45 min handover/training call plus a one-page "how to update your site" guide. What I'll provide 1. A complete brand guide and voice document (positioning, messaging, tone). 2. A finalized color palette (with exact hex values) and typography direction (a serif display + a clean sans). 3. A clickable homepage design mockup showing the layout, colors, and key copy — your reference to match. 4. All website content/copy, organized by page. 5. Logo/wordmark direction and any photography or imagery guidance. Expertise I'm looking for 1. Proven experience building professional websites on your recommended platform (please share 2–3 live examples, ideally consulting, professional services, or B2B brands). 2. Strong visual design sense — typography, spacing, and restraint, not template-y or busy. 3. Comfortable working from an existing brand guide, mockup, and supplied copy and matching the design precisely. 4. Experience doing clean client handovers where the client self-manages the site afterward. 5. Clear communicator, reliable on timelines. Nice to have 1. Light copy-polishing skill (I'll provide the copy, but a good editorial eye is a plus). 2. Basic SEO and Google Business / analytics setup. 3. Familiarity with accessibility (WCAG AA contrast).
