WordPress Designer/Developer for Education & Data-Analytics Brand (Bookings + Leads)

Summary

I'm looking for an experienced web designer/developer to build a high-converting, mobile-first website for Datasense Inc., an educational-services and data-analytics business based in Saint Lucia. Datasense has two distinct service lines that the site must speak to clearly: Mathematics tutoring & learning resources — Caribbean secondary and tertiary curricula (CSEC, CAPE, and college-level math), plus downloadable study guides and cheat sheets. Data-analytics & professional services — data analysis, reporting, and custom technical/document work for businesses and individuals. The goal of the site is not a generic brochure. It's a clean, modern, slightly playful brand experience that builds credibility, captures leads, and drives bookings — for cold, warm, and returning visitors alike. Primary objectives Generate bookings/consultations (tutoring sessions and data-analytics inquiries). Capture leads through email-gated free resources (study guides, cheat sheets). Build brand awareness and authority so Datasense becomes a trusted name in its niche. This is a fixed-price project with a clear milestone structure (below). I value designers who think about conversion and user journey, not just visuals. PLATFORM WordPress (self-hosted). I'm open to your recommendation on theme vs. page builder (e.g. Elementor Pro, Gutenberg/blocks, Bricks, or Kadence) — tell me what you'd use and why. I do not need an e-commerce store/checkout. No physical products are being sold. Downloads are free but email-gated (used as lead magnets), so propose how you'll handle gated downloads + email capture. If you believe a different platform is genuinely better for these goals, you're welcome to make the case in your proposal — but justify it against cost, SEO, content management, and my ability to self-edit afterward. SCOPE — PAGES & STRUCTURE Core pages Home — strong above-the-fold value proposition, clear primary CTA (Book / Get a free guide), trust signals, and clear paths to each service line. Tutoring — math tutoring services, levels covered (CSEC/CAPE/college), how it works, pricing or "request a quote," testimonials, CTA to book. Data & Professional Services — data-analytics and professional engagements; positioned for a business/individual audience; portfolio or capability summary; CTA to inquire. Resource Hub / Free Downloads — library of gated PDFs (cheat sheets, study guides); each download captures an email before delivery. About / Founder's Story — credibility, mission, and the person behind Datasense. FAQ / Contact — common questions + contact form + WhatsApp click-to-chat + location/timezone (Saint Lucia, AST). Booking — integrated scheduling so visitors can self-book consultations/sessions (see Functional Requirements). Policies — privacy policy, terms, and any service/cancellation policies. Note: I'm consolidating from an earlier 9-page plan. I removed Cart/Checkout because I'm not selling products. If you think the Tutoring and Data pages should be split further or combined, advise me. FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS Booking/scheduling integration — native plugin (e.g. Amelia, Bookly) or embedded tool (Calendly/Acuity). Must support different appointment types for tutoring vs. data consults, with email/calendar confirmations. Paid deposits are optional/nice-to-have, not required. Email-gated downloads — visitor enters email → receives the PDF; email is added to my list automatically. Email-marketing integration — connect forms and gated downloads to an email platform. I'm open to MailerLite, ConvertKit, or Mailchimp (recommend one; note: the old proposal mentioned Privy/Klaviyo, but those are Shopify-oriented and not preferred here). Lead-capture forms & exit-intent / email pop-up — tasteful, not spammy. WhatsApp click-to-chat button — important for my market (Saint Lucia / wider Caribbean). Contact form with spam protection. Analytics & tracking — Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and basic conversion/event tracking (bookings, downloads, form submits). On-page SEO foundation — proper title/meta structure, headings, image alt text, sitemap, schema markup (LocalBusiness + relevant Course/Service schema), and clean URL structure. Performance — fast load on mobile (image optimization, caching, Core Web Vitals in good standing). My audience is heavily mobile. Accessibility — sensible WCAG-aligned basics (contrast, alt text, keyboard navigation). Responsive — flawless on mobile, tablet, and desktop. DESIGN DIRECTION Tone: clean, sleek, modern, professional — with a friendly, approachable, slightly playful edge. Trustworthy but not stiff or corporate-grey. Brand assets: I have existing brand colours and identity for Datasense and will provide a brand guide / logo / palette. The site must align to these. Conversion-first layout: clear hierarchy, obvious CTAs, minimal friction, strong social proof placement (testimonials, results, credentials). Two clear journeys from the homepage: one for students/parents (tutoring), one for businesses/clients (data services) — without making the site feel split or confusing. I'll share reference sites I like during onboarding. "TOP-TIER" EXTRAS I WANT CONSIDERED These elevate the project beyond a basic build — address them in your proposal: A lead-magnet funnel: free download → email capture → automated welcome email (set up the flow, even if simple). A resource hub/blog structure for ongoing SEO content (study tips, guides) so the site keeps pulling organic traffic. Local SEO setup for Saint Lucia + a Caribbean/online student audience (Google Business Profile guidance, local schema). Social proof system — easy way for me to add new testimonials/results over time. Editable by me — built so I can add downloads, posts, and testimonials myself without code. A short handover/training session or Loom walkthrough at the end. DELIVERABLES Fully built, responsive, launched WordPress site on my hosting. All core pages above, designed and populated with placeholder/real content (I'll provide copy and assets; advise if you also offer copywriting). Booking, email-capture, gated downloads, WhatsApp chat, analytics, and SEO foundation all configured and tested. Basic SEO setup + sitemap submitted to Search Console. Documentation: how to edit pages, add downloads/posts, and manage bookings (PDF or video walkthrough). A defined number of revisions (see milestones). TIMELINE & MILESTONES (adapted to a fixed-price flow) I prefer a sprint-based build with check-ins, similar to: Milestone 1 — Onboarding & Mini-Site (≈10–12 days): brand intake, references, sitemap/wireframe sign-off, then a "mini website" = Home + one key service page for alignment. Milestone 2 — Full Build (≈10–14 days): all remaining pages, booking, gated downloads, email integration, WhatsApp, forms. Milestone 3 — SEO, Optimization & Launch (≈5–7 days): analytics/SEO/performance pass, QA across devices, final revisions, go-live, and handover/training. Total ≈ 3–4 weeks, with up to 3 rounds of revisions and a walkthrough call at each milestone. Propose your own milestone breakdown if you'd structure it differently. BUDGET Fixed price: USD $1,850 for the full scope above. Please structure your bid across the three milestones. If something in scope can't be done well within this budget, tell me honestly and propose what you'd adjust — I'd rather know up front. SCREENING QUESTIONS - Share 2–3 live WordPress sites you've built for service or education businesses that include booking and/or lead capture. - How would you set up email-gated PDF downloads that add the visitor to my email list? Which plugins/tools would you use? - Which page builder or theme would you use for this project, and why? - How will you make the site fast and flawless on mobile for a mobile-heavy Caribbean audience? - Briefly outline your milestone plan and timeline for the $1,850 fixed budget. - Do you offer copywriting, or will you build around copy I provide?
