Shopify Merchandiser — Make Our Existing Catalogue Production-Ready (Kitchen, Bathroom & Flooring)
Worldwide
About us We're Willow & Weir (willowandweir.co.uk), an early-stage UK startup building a quality home interiors brand on Shopify — well-made taps, sinks, basin and bath fittings, shower sets (brass, chrome, nickel), worktops, and natural stone, porcelain, wood and laminate flooring. We work AI-first. Our products are already live on the site with images, but they're not yet production-ready. We supply all product data, specs and copy (from supplier feeds). We need a Shopify specialist with a strong visual and commercial eye to take the existing catalogue and bring it to a production-ready standard — mainly by making imagery consistent across every product and category, and building product and collection pages that present well and convert. This is not a data-entry / bulk-upload role. The products and content are already in place. This is merchandising, image standardisation and conversion-focused presentation. How we'll work You'll have developer support on hand if something technical comes up, but ideally you're self-sufficient. Clear, proactive communication matters to us — you'll use Slack (or a similar channel) to flag anything unclear as the project proceeds. Phase 1 — make the current catalogue production-ready Image consistency (top priority). The product images already on the site are inconsistent in size, background, crop and quality across products and categories. Bring them to one consistent spec (we'll provide ours): consistent 1:1 aspect ratio, clean white background for primaries, consistent product scale and padding, consistent dimensions and web-optimised file size, consistent image order — with background removal, retouching and colour-correction as needed. AI image tools (e.g. Higgsfield) are welcome to speed this up, as long as output stays consistent and on-brand. On-page setup & structure. Organise collections (manual + smart) to a consistent template; create variants with the correct variant image for each finish (brass/chrome/nickel); populate specs via metafields (finish, material, flow rate, mounting, dimensions, coverage-per-pack for flooring) displaying in a clean spec table; add alt text and consistent SEO fields; apply proven high-converting product-page patterns. QA. Filters/facets work; empty collections populated or hidden (flooring currently looks thin); navigation correct; clean on desktop and mobile; images don't harm page speed. Requirements Must have: - Shopify — products, variants, collections, metafields, theme/section basics - Product image editing to a consistent brand standard (Photoshop or equivalent); comfortable with AI image tools (e.g. Higgsfield) - Visual merchandising for quality, brand-led online stores - Marketing / CRO knowledge — what makes a product page convert (this is key) - Comfortable working AI-first day-to-day (Claude, Codex, Gemini) - Confident communicator — comfortable using Slack (or similar) throughout the project - Home, interiors, bathroom or kitchen products (strongly preferred) Bonus: vibe coding / small theme tweaks in code; Matrixify (Excelify) for feed/CSV work. Phase 2 — after launch (ongoing) Once Phase 1 is approved and live, we'll add the next product set to the same standard. We want someone to keep working with, not a one-off. Definition of "done" Per product: images to spec; variants + variant images correct; specs populated and showing; description to template; alt text + SEO complete; in the right collection(s). Per collection: image, description, correct products, working filters, consistent grid. Site-wide: no broken/empty collections; navigation correct; clean on desktop and mobile. Paid trial task Using products already on the site, plus references we provide: - Standardise images for 5 products (at least one with an inconsistent / messy image). - Make those 5 production-ready end-to-end — variants, variant images, specs, formatted description, alt text, SEO. - Organise and tidy 1 collection so it presents and converts. - Match our brand style exactly (we'll give you 2–3 finished reference products). - Deliver in a dev/duplicate context, plus a 3–4 sentence note on your image approach. To apply Start with "Production-Ready Shopify" (filters out bots). Then include: - Links to 3 Shopify stores you've worked on (home / interiors ideal). - Product pages you personally improved — before/after if possible. - A before/after of an image you standardised, or how you'd make an inconsistent image clean and production-ready. - The image and bulk-Shopify tools you use (Photoshop, Higgsfield, Matrixify, AI tools). - Your per-product time estimate and rough catalogue total (refine after the trial). - Your hourly rate and preferred pricing for the full project.
