Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. In this role, you will provide essential support to the accounting department by managing daily financial tasks, ensuring the accuracy of our ledgers, and helping maintain our financial health. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general accounting principles, excellent data entry skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable & Receivable Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments. Generate and send out accounts receivable invoices to clients or customers. Follow up on past-due accounts and assist with collections when necessary. Record and post customer payments (checks, credit cards, and wire transfers). Reconciliation & Reporting Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. Reconcile general ledger accounts and identify any discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of standard financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements. General Accounting Support Perform accurate and timely data entry into the accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP). Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Help prepare and organize documentation for internal and external audits. Process employee expense reports and verify receipts against company policy. Maintain highly organized and secure digital and physical financial records. Qualifications and Skills Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Experience: 1–3 years of proven experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or financial support role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables). Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
