Summary

Title: Virtual Assistant – Research & Administrative Support (Task-Based) Overview Small startup business seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Assistant to complete recurring research and administrative projects on a task-by-task basis. This is not a customer service position and does not require phone work. Most assignments involve internet research, spreadsheet creation, data collection, website updates, and maintaining organized records. Work is project-based rather than hourly. Additional assignments will be available as the business grows. Responsibilities Tasks may include: • Researching suppliers, organizations, grants, and business resources • Building and updating spreadsheets • Tracking deadlines and maintaining calendars • Creating and updating contact databases • Monitoring websites for new opportunities • Organizing digital files and folders • Updating website content using the provided instructions • Vendor registration support • Data entry and quality checks • Compiling research into simple reports • Identifying and documenting business opportunities Required Skills • Strong internet research skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets • Attention to detail • Ability to follow written instructions • Strong written English • Experience organizing information and documents Preferred Skills • Experience with business research • Experience using WordPress or website builders • Familiarity with Google Workspace • Experience creating professional spreadsheets Deliverables Each project will include: • Clear written instructions • Defined deliverables • Expected completion date • Fixed payment amount Examples of Assignments Project 1: Research and compile 50 organizations, including website, contact information, membership requirements, and costs. Project 2: Research and compile 25 opportunities that meet specific criteria, and enter the findings into a spreadsheet. Project 3: Update website pages using the provided text and formatting instructions. Project 4: Create and maintain a grant and funding tracker spreadsheet. Project 5: Build a supplier database using the provided criteria. Compensation Fixed-price assignments. Most projects are expected to require approximately 2–6 hours of work.
