Luxury Dog Collar
Worldwide
Premium Dog Collar Buckle Development Please only apply if you are confident that you can complete the requested work within this budget and have experience with both industrial design and mechanical product development. I am not looking for a generic buckle, basic CAD model, or simple 3D printing project. I am looking for a designer/engineer who can create a premium product concept that combines: * Industrial Design * Mechanical Engineering * User Experience * Manufacturability --- ## Project Overview I am developing a premium dog collar brand. The buckle is the centerpiece of the product and must feel unique, premium, secure, and memorable. I already have: * Previous CAD files * Prototype files * Videos * Design references * Examples of what I do NOT want * Premium reference images showing the design direction I am aiming for All files will be provided before work begins. --- ## Design Requirements Appearance is extremely important. I am looking for a premium consumer-product appearance, not an engineering prototype. The final design should feel: * Premium * Elegant * Modern * Unique * Lightweight * Refined * Comfortable * High-end Important visual goals: * Clean surfaces * Refined curves and chamfers * Premium proportions * Integrated button * Minimal visible mechanical parts * Minimal visible pins * Minimal visible magnets * Near zero-gap appearance when locked * Premium appearance from every angle * Distinctive design language * Not bulky * Not generic I will provide reference images showing the exact level of refinement I am looking for. --- ## User Experience Goals The user experience is the highest priority. Important goals: * One-handed operation * Strong and secure locking * Smooth unlocking * Premium tactile feedback * Strong click feeling * Premium click sound * No accidental opening * Smooth and intuitive use The product should feel solid, precise, and confidence-inspiring. --- ## Preferred Locking Experience The locking experience is extremely important. My preferred concept is: * Magnets guide and align the two halves together * The connection feels precise and premium * The buckle should NOT rely on squeezing both sides together to lock * After alignment, the user intentionally presses the main button to engage the locking mechanism * Once locked, the buckle should feel extremely secure with minimal movement or play * Strong pull resistance suitable for large dogs * Premium tactile click and sound * Easy and controlled unlocking using the same button * The locking pin should retract cleanly back into the housing when unlocked * The mechanism should feel deliberate, precise, secure, and premium I am open to different engineering solutions if they achieve the same premium user experience. --- ## Engineering Goals The mechanism should provide: * Strong locking performance * Secure retention * Minimal movement when locked * Smooth button operation * Reliable operation * As few moving parts as possible * As few springs as possible * Manufacturable design * Lightweight construction The design should also consider: * Future mass production * Weight reduction * Durability * Ease of assembly * Manufacturability * Efficient use of magnets and springs * Long-term reliability * Safety for dogs The buckle should remain compact, lightweight, and comfortable for daily use. --- ## Deliverables Required At minimum I expect: * Premium concept design * Exterior design direction * Mechanism concept * CAD files * STEP files * STL files * Assembly concept * Preliminary dimensions * Preliminary BOM * Magnet recommendations * Spring recommendations (if required) * Explanation of how the mechanism works I expect realistic engineering decisions rather than a visual-only concept. --- ## Validation & Proof of Functionality This project is intended to become a real product, not just a visual concept. The mechanism should be designed so that a functional 3D-printed prototype can realistically be produced and tested after delivery. If possible, I would like: * Assembly demonstration * Mechanism explanation * Photos of the assembled concept * Video demonstrating: * Locking * Unlocking * Button operation * Mechanism movement * Pull-force demonstration The more proof provided, the better. --- ## Timeline My deadline is important. Preferred delivery: * 2 days ideal Please only apply if you can realistically meet this timeline. --- ## When Applying Please tell me: 1. Your experience with product design and mechanical assemblies. 2. What you would improve compared to typical dog-collar buckles. 3. How you would approach this design. 4. Examples of similar work if available. --- ## Final Objective The goal is not simply to create a buckle. The goal is to create the foundation of a premium pet brand. When someone sees it, touches it, locks it, and unlocks it, it should feel: * Premium * Precise * Secure * Elegant * Memorable I am looking for someone who understands both premium industrial design and real mechanical engineering and can create a product that looks exceptional, feels exceptional, and is realistic to manufacture.
