WooCommerce Multisite Expansion: 2 Country Domains, 2 Languages + Performance/Scalability About the Project We operate a WooCommerce e-commerce site selling personal care products across Europe. We are expanding into two additional markets and need an experienced developer to set up two new country-specific domains, add two new language versions, and ensure the entire infrastructure can handle high-traffic loads without downtime. Scope of Work Multisite / Multistore Setup Configure two new country-specific domains (e.g. .de, .fi, .pl) within the existing WooCommerce environment — either as a WordPress Multisite network or using a multistore plugin (WPML, Polylang, or equivalent) Set up proper hreflang tags and SEO redirects for each domain Ensure product catalog, pricing, and currency settings can be managed independently per country Language Integration Add two new language versions (full front-end translation: product pages, checkout, emails, My Account) Integrate with an existing or new translation solution (WPML, Polylang, TranslatePress — state your preference and justify it) Handle RTL support if applicable; ensure locale-specific date/number formats Performance & Scalability Audit current hosting/server configuration and identify bottlenecks Implement or configure a caching layer (Redis/Memcached + full-page cache, e.g. WP Rocket, LiteSpeed, W3 Total Cache) Set up or optimize a CDN (Cloudflare or equivalent) for static assets across all domains Database query optimization (slow query log review, index audit) Load test the site post-deployment (e.g. with k6 or Loader.io) and document results — target: stable performance under [X] concurrent users Provide recommendations for horizontal scaling if needed (e.g. load balancer setup, object cache cluster) Handover Full documentation of architecture changes Admin training notes for managing translations and per-country settings Brief post-launch monitoring period (minimum 1 week) with bug-fix support What We're Looking For Proven WooCommerce multisite/multilingual experience — please share relevant case studies or live examples Strong PHP/WordPress internals knowledge (not just plugin configuration) Familiarity with server-side performance tuning (NGINX/Apache config, PHP-FPM, OPcache) Experience with load testing and documenting results Clean, commented code and clear written communication Nice to Have Experience with WooCommerce in EU regulatory context (VAT OSS, GDPR-compliant cookie handling per domain) Familiarity with Allegro, eMAG, or other European marketplace integrations Budget & Timeline Budget: Open to fixed-price proposals with a clear milestone breakdown Timeline: Target go-live within 5–6 weeks of project start
