Middle School Language Arts Tutor

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and engaging Language Arts tutor for our son, a rising 8th grader in Connecticut. He is highly capable and strong academically, but we want to shift his focus from standard schoolwork toward advanced reading comprehension, critical analysis, and vocabulary building. The goal is to establish a rock-solid foundation for high school, higher education, and future standardized testing (like the SAT). What We Are Looking For: Targeted Focus: Deep-dive reading comprehension, text analysis, drawing inferences, and critical thinking. Student Level: Rising 8th grader (advanced/strong student). Format: Online, 1-on-1 sessions. Frequency: [e.g., 1–2 times per week] – flexible based on the right fit. Requirements: Proven experience teaching middle school Language Arts or preparing students for advanced high school track/SAT verbal sections. Ability to source or recommend high-quality reading materials (literature, essays, articles). Patient, encouraging, and structured teaching style.
